Sometimes, there’s a lot more beneath your feet than you might realise! 👀

The last couple of weeks have been busy on our Bury project, carefully preparing and layering everything needed to create a solid, warm and well-protected foundation for this home.

Here’s what’s gone into the floor build-up so far:

🔹 Smooth, level floor screeding
🔹 Clipped-in screed underfloor heating system
🔹 Visqueen polyethylene sheeting
🔹 Unilin insulation boards
🔹 Damp proofing using Wykamol CM8 wall membrane
🔹 Hydra Dri applied to all walls and floors

It might not be the most glamorous stage of a renovation, but these are the details that really matter — getting the foundations and protection right before the next stage begins.

🏠 Next up: the internal walls. That’s when this home will really start to take shape!

We’re Hiring – Site Foreman

PH Build Group is looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Site Foreman to join our growing team.

If you’re an organised leader with a strong construction background and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

As our Site Foreman, you’ll be responsible for overseeing several building sites, coordinating trades, ensuring projects stay on schedule, and maintaining excellent workmanship from start to finish.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of all aspects of residential construction.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage multiple construction sites simultaneously.
* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
* Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
* Monitor quality control and compliance with building regulations.
* Plan daily and weekly site activities.
* Maintain site health and safety standards.
* Liaise with clients and the management team.
* Resolve on-site issues efficiently and professionally.
* Keep accurate records of site progress and materials.

What We’re Looking For

* Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar supervisory role.
* Strong knowledge across multiple construction trades, including carpentry, brickwork, roofing, groundwork, finishing, and general building.
* Ability to manage several projects at once.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Strong organisational and time management abilities.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
* Full UK driving licence.

A major upgrade to a coastal classic. This three-storey, four-bedroom detached home, originally built between 1930 and 1949, sits just moments from the beach and enjoys panoramic sea views.

It has been a privilege for PH Build Group to redevelop this remarkable property, carefully transforming it from the inside out while preserving some of its original charm and character.

The full renovation included stripping the property back to brick, constructing a new three-storey side extension, skilfully restoring the brickwork, installing a brand-new roof, and creating new perimeter walling and driveway.

Now that the roof is going on, our renovation and extension project in Bury, Lancashire is really starting to look like a home. Key responsibilities:

✅ Carry out high-quality installation, repair, and maintenance work across a variety of interior and exterior home improvement projects.
✅ Work closely with homeowners to understand project requirements and deliver work to an excellent standard.
✅ Keep accurate records of completed work in line with company standards, ensuring all jobs are left clean, organised, and on schedule.
✅ Maintain a professional and respectful approach with clients, suppliers, and colleagues at all times.

Despite the torrential rain, our team has been hard at work constructing the steel framework for the Bolton home extension. This stage has felt a little like assembling a giant Meccano set, with every piece carefully positioned to create a strong, accurate structure for the next phase of the build.

Alongside this, we have been cleaning and cutting the original stonework to size so it can be reused within the new extension. This approach helps preserve the character of the property while ensuring the new work blends seamlessly with the existing construction.

The stone wall is already taking shape beautifully, and the whole project is really starting to come together. We’re looking forward to sharing more progress as this build continues.
