If you've been to Kirkgate Arts & Heritage lately you'll have spied a few bits of my handiwork. A beautiful piece of iroko worktop was donated to the centre a few years ago. This was originally part of the science labs at Durham university, then sat in a garage waiting for a project.

The owner kindly passed it on to Kirkgate Arts where it has been transformed into the top for their mobile bar, and to replace the tired looking bar table tops.

The last piece had been waiting for its new role and is now the box office counter! With such a small office, and such a busy space, it needed to be a flexible and simple design so a hinge and prop and voilà!

Happy to contribute my time as a volunteer for this lovely local venue.

I'll be leaving the tidying up of cables for the wife!

A couple of small joinery jobs over Easter, props for a play and a shelf for her indoors 👍. Nice to create some smaller bits and pieces (and earn a few brownie points!).

A couple of fiddly bits to work round this week, good to be using the old grey matter for a bit of problem solving though! And indoors, even better! 🧐🤔😃

New Year - new venture!

After many years as a joiner in different construction and maintenance companies in the area, I'm taking the plunge and going self employed.

Chilly putting this gate together this morning!! But really satisfying to see the end result.

Glad I had my gloves on 🪚🔧🧤❄️❄️❄️❄️
