Fibreglass roof refurb in Mersea.

This roof was poorly installed from the get go. Not only was it cracking in alot of places but also leaking badly into the quite recently finished extension.

Cleaned all the roof down
Wire brushed to remove any debris
Sanded so as give a key for new coating
Acetone wiped to remove any dust etc
A new specialised liquid rubber coating applied that will not crack or split.

Extended double garage Great Tey

As you can see in the pictures this roof had long seen better days. The existing chipboard deck had degraded so bad it was collapsing between the joists and the only thing stopping anyone falling through was the existing felt holding it together.

Total strip of back to joists
New 18mm osb decking, drip battens and arris
All primed.
New 2 layer high performance felt sysyem.
New welted drips all round to finish it of.

Recently completed flat roof in Mersea.

This was way past its time as was not only leaking but the deck also caving in on itself being the old chipboard.
Total strip back to joists, 18mm osb deck replacement followed by a high performance 2 layer felt system which will now keep this roof solid and waterproof for many years to come.

Tiptree Dormer Roofs – Refurbished 🔨✨
These front and rear dormers had started to fail and leak 💧, so we carried out a full upgrade. The old felt was removed, firring pieces added for better drainage, and both roofs re-decked with 18mm OSB boards before installing a high-performance two-layer torch-on system with new drip edges 🏠.

New guttering on the rear dormer and new fascias on the front one completed the job, leaving a clean, durable finish built to last ✅.

Flat roof dorma
So we have just completed this dorma and as you can see from the pictures these were never a great design, or work as good as they were intended to.
This old style always has the water falling back towards the tiled roof and exiting out a little gulley at the rear side of the dorma.
The best practice is to send it away from the tiled roof to the front of the dorma and into a gutter system.
This then totally eliminates ponding water, vegetation growth, and the increased risk of water ingress.

🔥 Clear all vegetation and strip of existing felt to expose original decking

🔥 Install new firring peices to create a fall to the front of the dorma

🔥 Re-deck using 18mm osb board

🔥 Re-felt by way of using a high performance torch on two layer system

🔥 New welted drips and abutment details

🔥 New lead slate round svp pipe

🔥 New gutter system installed to front and side of the dorma.

Garage roof in Tiptree completed today.
This one had seen alot better days and had been leaking for a number of years.
The front and rear joists had totally rotten away and what was left of the fascia was falling off in bits.

Clear all the vegetation and remove all the old felt so as to expose original decking.
Re-new any rotten decking and replace the joists.
Fit new fascia/soffit and guttering.
Install a new 2 layer high performance felt system with welted drips to front and back.
Now gauranteed to last for many many years to come.
