Things they don’t teach you at school:

How s**t it can be to run a small business.

The bigger companies use you for cash flow.
They dictate their terms and conditions.
They screw you down on price.

You very rarely get a "thank you" when you complete jobs on time, or even before the deadline.

They’ll ring you last minute on a Friday asking you to price a job that needs to start on Monday.
And expect a price and men on site... without a purchase order.

And me? Yes me. I’m supposed to be thankful.

But when payment is due?
Emails and phone calls get ignored.

When these clowns at the top went to university,
did they get special lessons on how to screw the little man?
Or am I missing something here?

Does anyone else hate having to go in and take over someone else's work?

We’ve just been to a job with a shocking IP's system design.
Floating toilets are springing because the IP's panels don’t support the weight and the whole thing is flexing.
On top of that, the main drains are in the wrong place because of the builder.

Fixing other people’s mistakes is never fun.
