Call out on Monday morning to a customer who had no power since Saturday ,poor lady she is 87 years young and the 1950s Fuseboard had completely burnt out ,We cancelled the jobs we had booked in till Tuesday and replaced the consumer unit for her .
As you can see the live cable feeding the board has completely melted due to a faulty main switch .
Happy customer . 😁

When the plumber says he can do the wiring to your bathroom and when your in the bathroom it all looks good ,but in reality he’s just thrown everything up top of the loft insulation,nothing fixed properly no Earth cables connected even on a metal socket ,cables wrapped around the boxes in the loft , this was a fire waiting to happen or even a shock risk . The last photo is how it should have been done in the first place .

A customer has had a fan fitted but it’s not extracting the condensation , on investigation the fan was fitted by the door so it’s drawing air from the door and not where it’s needed by the shower and the fan didn’t have a overrun timer so it turned off as soon as you turned the lights off . New fan fitted close to the shower with overrun for 15 minutes ,sometimes I just don’t understand why what other trades are doing it didn’t take anymore time to fit it in the correct place .

Started a kitchen upgrade to find this mess . All earths cut out of the lighting so no fuse protection if the lights became live . Taped up connections hidden in the walls which will cause rcds to start tripping as the moisture gets into the connections this happens over years .
You price a job thinking everything has been done properly then find issues like this which have to be corrected before you even start your upgrade . 🤦
