As we move through another busy growing season, we're proud to be supporting an increasing number of national contractors, facilities management companies and commercial organisations with their grounds maintenance requirements.

Over the last 12 months, we've continued to invest heavily in our infrastructure and capabilities. Today, Emery Group operates a fleet of 10 fully equipped grounds maintenance vans, professional-grade equipment, zero-turn ride-on mowers, and a growing team of experienced operatives committed to delivering exceptional standards.

Alongside our grounds maintenance division, we now operate two dedicated tree surgery teams, each staffed by experienced arborists and equipped to deliver everything from routine tree maintenance through to large-scale removals and reactive works. Demand for our arboricultural services continues to grow rapidly, and we're investing heavily in equipment, training, compliance and operational systems to ensure we can continue to support clients safely and professionally.

Our teams are currently supporting clients from the South Coast right through to Leeds, providing reliable labour, site support and contract delivery wherever it's needed.

The Roles
Trainee Grounds Maintenance Operative
Ideal for someone looking for a career change who enjoys working outdoors. No prior experience required — just the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative
Suitable for someone with proven experience in grounds maintenance. Basic landscaping and tree knowledge would be advantageous.

Arboricultural Climber
Fully qualified and experienced climber required. You must be confident leading projects, working to deadlines, and delivering work to a high standard in line with company expectations.

Pay & Benefits
Trainee Operative: £110 per day

Experienced Operative: £135 per day

Climber / Arborist: £190 per day

£50 weekly attendance bonus (after 4-week qualifying period)

Weekly pay

Plenty of overtime available

Requirements
Self-employed basis (UTR required)

Full UK driving licence and own transport

Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check

Available 6:45am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (with optional overtime)

Able to travel to Stoke Albany depot daily

Strong work ethic, reliability, and accountability

About the Role
This is a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The work can be physically demanding and at times high-pressure, but you’ll be part of a tight-knit team that takes pride in delivering high standards across every site.

We are looking for people who:

Take ownership of their work

Want to develop and grow within a structured environment

Represent the company professionally on site

Strong start to the week at The Emery Group.

Our open space sites are now into second cuts and really starting to stand out.

Tree works for housing association residents have been well received, our roofing team is wrapping up a large project in Warwickshire, and we’re revisiting a site in Chalfont St Peter to ensure the long-term repair is right — not just a quick fix.

Behind the scenes, we’re scheduling a major influx of work from a facilities partner in the West Midlands, while our landscaping team is delivering a forest school project at a primary school in Northampton.
