Imagine being just 16 years old and deciding to make history by sailing solo around the world.

That's exactly what Jessica Watson did. Setting sail from Australia, she spent 210 days alone at sea, from 18 October 2009 to 15 May 2010, completing one of the most inspiring sailing adventures ever achieved.

We're proud that one of our Rutland 913 Windchargers helped power the essential onboard equipment aboard Ella's Pink Lady throughout her incredible journey. While the Rutland 913 is no longer in production, its successor, the Rutland 914i, continues our commitment to providing reliable renewable energy for sailors around the world.

Jessica's remarkable story was brought to the screen in TRUE SPIRIT, streaming on Netflix, with an outstanding performance by Teagan Croft, portraying Jessica Watson, and showcasing Jessica's courage, determination, and resilience.
