💫 Planning Approval 💫

We have officially secured planning permission for this extensive one and two storey extension project. 🎉

Sometimes the most challenging part of a project is the process rather than the design. 🚩

Despite a smooth application process, last-minute unexpected staffing changes at the Local Planning Authority required us to step up and advocate for the client. After six weeks of persistent correspondence and active monitoring, we have finally crossed the finish line! 🏁

At Olliver Design Studio, we take the weight of the planning process off your shoulders from start to finish. We submit all necessary forms, manage the correspondence with the Local Planning Authority, and coordinate external consultants to keep your project moving forward. 👩🏼‍💻

🤍A special project 🤍

After a life changing medical diagnosis these clients needed an accessible space at home to provide comfort and familiarity when things become even more difficult.

The requirements were simple, an accessible bedroom with accessible wet room which connects with the downstairs of the property. 🛏️

We explored an extension to the front of the garage but the internal layout of the property vs budget would have made this infeasible.

This wasn’t a straightforward project. The property did not have Permitted Development rights in tact, despite the Planning Department initially confirming otherwise, which meant a Householder application needed to be submitted. Time had been lost and whilst work had started on site which was necessary under the circumstances, nothing is guaranteed when it comes to planning applications. We needed to secure an approval, so we provided additional supporting information to strengthen the application and consequently the Approval was Granted. 🤍

This incredible outbuilding will be home to a Golf Simulator, Gym and much more. 🎯

Since the initial concept design we have reduced the amount of glazing and increased the shading from the roof overhang to ensure that the internal space is not too bright, this will be paired with surface mounted blinds on the proposed glazing for optimal performance from the Golf Simulator. 🏌️

No excuses for missing a shot because of glare now ⛳️
