Full hip-end re-roof recently completed 🏡

For this project we completely stripped the old tiles, battens, and membrane before upgrading the insulation and bringing the roof up to modern standards.

The new roof system included a breathable membrane, softwood treated battens, ventilation at both the eaves and ridge line, along with new lead-welded flashings around the chimney for a clean, long-lasting finish.

Finished in a Crest Double Roman interlocking roof tile, giving the property a smart, timeless look 👌

Finishing touches on a stunning oak porch 🏡

We were brought in to complete this beautifully constructed porch, adding the final details with concrete plain tiles, a rolled lead ridge, and stepped lead flashing.

Full re-roof completed on a detached property in Fenny Drayton 🏡

For this project we used Crest Planum Duo, giving the appearance of smaller tiles with a sleek, modern finish.

The roof was fully upgraded with a breathable membrane, proper ventilation at the eaves and ridge, and a full insulation upgrade to meet current standards.

Putting right a cowboy job 🔨

A recent re-slate of one side of a roof where the customer had unfortunately been let down by poor workmanship.

We stepped in and put things right — re-slating the roof in fibre cement slates, installing lead-welded flashings, and finishing with a dry ventilated ridge system for a clean, long-lasting result.

A nice, tidy job completed properly 👌

Mid-terrace up and over re-roof using Marley Ludlow Major in grey 🏡

This time we transformed a tired 1960s roof that had deteriorating tiles, failing brickwork, and a membrane that was almost completely disintegrated.

We upgraded the insulation internally, installed a breathable membrane with softwood treated battens, and replaced all fascia, soffits, and guttering with new UPVC. The old chimney was removed below rafter height, and the roof was properly ventilated at both the eaves and ridge.

Finished in Marley Ludlow Major concrete interlocking tiles in grey, along with re-roofing the flat roof bay using a Fatra PVC single ply system for a clean, modern finish.

Customer was absolutely over the moon — another great job ticked off the list 👌

Lead dormers completed last summer for one of our regular builders 🔨
These were finished in Code 5 lead, fixed with copper clips, with aprons and corners fully lead-welded and treated with multiple coats of patination oil for a long-lasting, traditional finish.

Plenty of preparation and attention to detail went into this one, and we were really pleased with how it turned out. Great work by the lads once again 👌

A throwback to the summer ☀️

Some photos from a job where we installed a code 7 rolled lead flat roof. Safe to say it wasn’t the easiest task getting the lead rolls up there, but that’s all part of the job. A lot of time, care, and hard work went into this one, and it definitely paid off in the end.

We were really pleased with the finish and how it all came together 👌

A proper transformation on these dormers 🔨

We stripped back the old plastic cladding and replaced it with traditional leadwork throughout. The works included code 4 lead-welded aprons, code 4 individual soakers, and code 5 lead-welded aprons and soakers, all finished with seamed lead cladding to give a much smarter, more traditional look.

A great before-and-after that really shows the difference quality materials and correct installation make. We’re really pleased with how this one turned out 👌

Leadwork renewal after storm damage 🏠⚒️

This customer contacted us after experiencing leaks during the recent storms. The existing lead on this low-elevation roof had failed, so we carried out a full renewal to bring everything back up to standard.

We installed Code 4 individual soakers, lead-welded aprons, and stepped flashing, all fully coated in patination oil and finished with lead sealant for long-term protection.

What a difference this has made — a clean, watertight finish and peace of mind for the customer 👌

From a dangerous roof to a safe, solid home 🏠

We were called out to inspect a property where the roof was showing a severe bow — nearly six inches across the centre. After looking closer, it became clear that the roof had been replaced just three years ago with heavy concrete tiles on a structure originally designed for slate.

The result?
⚠️ Structural sagging across the middle
⚠️ Leaks throughout
⚠️ A rear chimney on the verge of collapse

The homeowner had already been through two previous contractors — both leaving the roof unsafe and the customer out of pocket.

We took the job through the proper channels — involving building control and structural engineers to make sure everything was done right.
Our team then:
✅ Stripped the roof completely
✅ Jacked up and levelled the rafters
✅ Installed two new steels and structural supports
✅ Fully reinsulated and re-roofed using new breathable membrane & battens
✅ Removed the rear chimney and re-leaded the front chimney with welded aprons
✅ Reused the existing tiles once the structure was safe

It was a huge job — but now the roof is structurally sound, watertight, and built to last.

We’ll be showing the before and after photos of this one — a perfect example of how bad workmanship can be put right with proper care and experience.

Following on from our last post… 🏡🔨

Here’s the finished re-roof we completed after taking over from the cowboy job we showed previously.

This roof was fully stripped and rebuilt using:
✅ Fibre cement slates
✅ Non-breathable membrane and softwood treated battens
✅ Vented soffit and full replacement fascia boards with downpipes
✅ Repaired rafter legs to create a solid structural base
✅ New leadwork around the chimney, including lead-welded aprons
✅ Reinstalled solar panels
✅ Dry-fixed ridge and hip system with block-end ridge fittings

The customer was relieved to finally have a professionally installed roof — and was absolutely over the moon with the result 👌
