One of the best tips I can give any new heating engineer or apprentice… learn how to use a multimeter! ⚡️🔧

You NEED to understand this device.
Knowing how to use a multimeter properly will help you diagnose faults, understand heating systems better and seriously level up your fault-finding game.

Learn your multimeter. You’ll use it more than you think. 👨‍🔧

You can’t beat a bucket on site 😂🪣

Forget your fancy toolboxes, organisers and expensive storage systems… a couple of quid gets you one of the most useful things on the van.

Carry your tools in it, chuck fittings in it, catch water in it, mix in it, sit on it… 😂

Every plumber needs a bucket. 🪣🔧

I know you’re still getting over the fact that I fitted this Italian Ferroli boiler… 🇮🇹🔥

But if you’re an engineer working on one of these, here are a few things you NEED to know. 🔧

I’ll show you how to put it into minimum and maximum rate — but more importantly, how to deal with something that frustrates a lot of engineers…

The dreaded FH — deaeration mode. 😤

How do you actually get it out of FH?

I’ll show you right at the end. 👀

Today felt like going back to the early days of Plumbing Doctors 😂🔧

Before I got my gas badge, and even in the early days when I first took Curtis on, this was the bread and butter of the business…

🚽 Toilets
🚰 Taps
💧 Leaks
🔥 Radiators
🔧 General maintenance plumbing

Nowadays Curtis normally takes care of most of these jobs, but he was busy on the flats project installing cylinders, so any emergency jobs that came in, I was straight back out on the road sorting them.

A proper bundle of old-school plumbing jobs today. Sometimes it’s good to get back to the basics 👨🏽‍🔧

Bread and butter of the plumbing game 🔧🚰

Nothing fancy today — just a good old-fashioned kitchen tap change. One of those everyday plumbing jobs that keeps us busy! 👨‍🔧

Had long hair for about 3 years now… at one point I even grew it all the way down to my shoulders 😂 That took a whole year!

I’ve been back and forth with it since, but finally decided it’s time to go short again. Easier to manage, cleaner and back to something similar to what I used to have — skin fade with a little box at the front 💈✂️

It’s actually crazy how much a haircut can completely change the way you look 😂

“Why is your wiring centre so messy?” 😂⚡️

Because it’s a TEST RIG!

I built this S-Plan training rig to teach people how to understand, test and fault-find S-Plan heating systems.

In the real world, 99.9% of the wiring centres you open aren’t going to be perfectly neat and labelled like they are at college.

So why practise on something perfect?

I want this rig to be as close to a real-life fault-finding scenario as possible. 🔧🔥

My S-Plan Pro Guide is available through the link in my bio.

What about getting an F-Gas ticket? ❄️🔥
Every time I open social media lately, it feels like another heating engineer has gone and got their F-Gas 😂

And the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.

Summer was HOT ☀️ and traditionally that’s when gas and heating work can go quiet.

So why not AC when it’s warm… and boilers, heating and gas work when it’s cold?
Keep yourself busy all year round.

F-Gas might have to be the next ticket 👀
Anyone else thinking the same?
