🌳Growing greatness💪🏽

We may have been a little bit quiet on social media recently but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy.
The extension to our workshop is well underway and over the past few weeks our team have been working hard setting everything up, ready for the next phase of our venture.

Our new workshop is now over 1000m2 with additional on-site storage and includes the following…

- Main offices which include a large project managers office, accounts office, estimating office and CAD drawing office
- Meeting room
- Production office
- Machine shop which includes CNC, table panel saw, edge ba**er, planer/thicknesser and chop saws
- Joinery shop with 12 brand new 3 meter long metal framed benches (to ensure everything is built to precision). Each bench has an extractor, power, airline, fixings cupboard and secure tool storage
- Pre-build area
- Paint shop, wrapping area and water based spray booth (coming soon)
- Kitchen area, canteen and nice, clean toilet facilities
- Secure power tool and fixings stores
- Full extraction system
- Private car park with CCTV

All of this based on a beautiful farm in Berkswell with horses, alpacas, sheep and unicorns running around (just 2 miles from Coventry).

Being greener is a big part of our new set up with the aim to re-use as much waste as possible.
Our furnace and filter system means all of our timber off cuts get used heat the workshop throughout the colder months and any waste we produce that can’t be used in the furnace is separated and sent to local recycling centres when possible meaning our general waste is minimal compared to other companies of this size.
We buy materials in bulk where possible to reduce the amount of deliveries which in turn reduces our carbon footprint.

💪🏽The Overflow OG🦸‍♂️

Overflow Events started in 2019 and Jon Herriott was the original workshop manager who worked alongside Kev Walters to build the company you see before you today.

His career started as a joiner in 2002 at Silver Knight Exhibitions and over the past 20 years he has worked for companies across the industry including GES, The Hub, Exmedia, Diamond, Scruffy Dog, Universal and Exhibitions Plus.
As well as being a f*cking bad ass joiner, Jon is experienced in many aspects of the industry including site management, project management, production management and estimating.

His experience isn’t just construction based though… He previously owned 3 record labels and managed various musicians around the world so his skill set in managing people and working with high-end clients is 2nd to none.

After the exhibition industry went on hold during the pandemic, Jon set up his own carpentry and landscaping business with the super handsome, Rich Fouracre, called Herriott Acres Ltd. Another successful business venture which was brought to a close when Kev Walters gave both Jon & Rich a great opportunity to get back into the exhibition industry.

Now with Kev Walters leading the charge, Rich Fouracre as Senior Project Manager and Jon Herriott re-joining the team as Production Manager, The Avengers continue to assemble their team of super heroes.

Rich Fouracre is one of the latest additions to the Overflow Events team and what a great addition he is.
Starting his career in 2001 at Silver Knight Exhibitions as a joiner, Rich has become a well known name across the industry (mostly for sacking people lol) and his CV speaks for itself…

C2C Joinery Ltd - Managing Director (2012-2014)

Scruffy Dog - Production Project Manager (2016-2017)

Freeman - Fabrication Production Manager (2017-2020)

After Freeman closed in 2020 due to the pandemic, Rich set up a carpentry and landscaping business called Herriott Acres Ltd with his best pal, Jon Herriott.
A successful business in the middle of a worldwide pandemic was a career highlight for him but in May, Rich and Jon were offered an amazing opportunity by Overflow Events so their business was closed and The Avengers assembled.
Rich is the Senior Project Manager here and a key player in steering the ship to a successful future.

Kev Walters is the managing director of Overflow Events Ltd.
With over 20 years experience in events and exhibitions he has a vast knowledge of the industry and a forward thinking approach to business.
He is best known for his labour force, K Walters Installations, which has been supplying highly skilled carpenters, set builders and labour all over the UK, Europe and USA since it was founded back in 2014.
Kev’s dream was to one day have his own workshop and due to the high demand from his existing clients, this was made a reality back in 2019, when Overflow Events Ltd was born.
Overflow Events Ltd is based in Coventry and is manufacturing for some of the biggest brands in the world from TV, Movies, Exhibitions, Events and Festivals making it a key player in the industry.
