Measuring just six feet wide, this unique five-story townhouse in Shepherd’s Bush, London, is a strong contender for the narrowest home in the UK.

Originally a Victorian hat shop, the property features living spaces stacked vertically, including a lower-ground kitchen and a master bedroom accessed via a loft hatch.

The interior preserves period charm with parquet flooring and an original Art Deco bathtub, while double-height glass doors lead to a private patio to reduce the sense of confinement.

Despite its slender footprint, the house was recently valued at nearly £1 million.

The Barbican is one of those places that reminds me why architecture matters.

Bold, uncompromising, and completely unapologetic. The concrete, the geometry, the elevated walkways, the hidden gardens… every corner feels intentional.

Love it or hate it, the Barbican Estate proves that great design doesn’t have to whisper. Sometimes it speaks loudly, confidently, and lasts for generations.

Over 50 years on, it still feels visionary.

For me, it’s a reminder that architecture should be more intentional, brave, and occasionally Brutal.

Some background on this one ✨
A 1970s two-bed bungalow transformed into a four-bed family home. We added a formal entrance hall, utility, larger kitchen, study, and a generous balcony overlooking the sea.
Even better were the clients! A lovely couple moving down from Yorkshire. After so much time working side by side, we didn’t just finish a project… we made friends. Not all projects are this wholesome!
