After almost 40 years, fish and fish have decided it is now time to down tools. We have had an incredible 40 years, with the help of our loyal employees. Too many to mention, but particularly our Foreman, Kennedy, who was with us almost from the start.
It hasn't always been easy, but together we have weathered the many challenges and would like to thank and wish all the very best to our valued clients, trusted suppliers and loyal team.

Below are some of the lovely replies we have been receiving in response to our news. Thank you, everyone:

“You have been our trusted electricians for many years, and it’s sad to know you’re winding things down, but hopefully this means a long and happy retirement for you both?! All the very best to you & Alan”
“I am really sorry to hear about this, but can understand why. It is an amazing achievement for the last 40years”
“Thank you, Viv. That is sad news. I hope you and Alan enjoy your retirement”
“I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you both for your assistance and fantastic service over the years. It was a pleasure doing business with you, and we wish you all the best in whatever lies ahead”
“Thanks for letting me know, and sorry to see the business will be no longer. Thank you for your service over the years, but I am sure a well-earned break for Alan and yourself, do enjoy, I assume, retirement”
“I’m sorry to hear this sad news. Thank you so much for your help over the years, it is greatly appreciated. All of us at ABM wish you and the team all the best of luck for the future, whatever that may hold”
“Thanks for the update, Viv and for your support over the years. All the very best”

We haven't posted for a while, but this is well worth sharing.

Electrical Safety First has a wealth of information about safety around the home that is well worth reviewing. Not least, make sure you have smoke, heat, and, where relevant, carbon-monoxide detectors and that they are functioning and haven't expired out of date.

Youngsters attending Cramlington Voluntary Youth Project (CVYP) over Easter are guaranteed a treat thanks to two generous donations of chocolate eggs.

Cramlington Town Council teamed up with Atkinson Dental & Implant Clinic in Jesmond and Fish Electrical Services Ltd in Cramlington who have collected chocolate eggs to be distributed to deserving youngsters.

Atkinson Dental Practice (which is part of the Portman group) collected donations of Easter eggs from patients, staff, and the community with Practice Manager Rachel Davison saying “We are thrilled to connect with CVYP. We believe that every child deserves to experience the joy of Easter, and we hope that this initiative will brighten their day and put smiles on their faces.”

Wow, what a great opportunity to discover some local history.

Northumberland Archives will be brought to life in a series of FREE online talks.

Staff from the archives and library teams will be hosting the talks once a month, starting on Thursday, November 26.

The virtual sessions have been made possible through funding from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund.

Archives received £48,100 from the fund which is part of the Government’s £1.57 billion package to protect the UK’s culture and heritage sectors from the economic impacts of Covid-19.

The funding was intended for initiatives such as this to allow the service to engage with new audiences who would not usually use the archives service. It will also be used to create an online shop for those using the archives to be able to download high-quality imagery, investigate the possibilities of partnerships in relation to commercial services to reach a wider audience.

The first talk on November 26, will be an “Introduction to Northumberland Archives” by Archivist Michael Geary at 7pm.

This will be followed by:

Thursday 10 December 2020 – Stannington Sanatorium, England's First Children’s TB Sanatorium – Sue Wood, Head of Archives

Thursday 7 January 2021 – Evidence of Women and their Lives in the Berwick Archives - Linda Bankier, Berwick Archivist

Thursday 21 January 2021 – The Butler Family of Ewart Park – Sarah Littlefear, Archivist.
