SKILLED LANDSCAPER AND TEAM LEADER

Are you a skilled landscaper and team leader who wants to make a real difference within a fast-growing landscape design and build company? If that sounds like you then we have an exciting opportunity for a Skilled Landscaper to lead a small landscaping team at Cunningham Gardens.

To be successful in this role you will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and be able to lead, organise and motivate your team to deliver high end gardens for our clients in Kent and the home counties. You will have a keen eye for detail and a proven track record in all aspects of landscape construction. As the first point of contact with the client you will always have excellent commination skills and a professional and approachable manner. Key Skills & Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee key private residential landscaping projects on time and on budget
• Organise and lead a landscaping team on site
• Understand design drawings and set out sites and levels
• Plan, prioritise and work to deadlines
• Ability to problem solve
• Ensure you and your team adhere to H&S guidelines and wear correct PPE
• Experience of using Plant Machinery safely
• Excellent knowledge of laying all types of paving, setts and stone
• Experience in blockwork, brickwork and retaining walls
• Excellence in constructing decking, fencing and timber structures
• Knowledge of plant, shrub and tree planting
• Turfing and seeding

To be successful in this role you will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and be able to work as part of a team under the direction of the team leader to help us deliver high end gardens for our clients across Kent and Home Counties. You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated and have experience of working on landscaping sites. You will happily undertake general labouring tasks but will also want to improve your landscape construction skills by learning from others.

· Relevant experience in working on building/landscaping sites

· Assist the team with various labouring tasks including in mixing cement, digging, lifting and carrying, cutting (stone and timber), ground preparation, painting and planting

· Under direction and over a period of time to become proficient at laying paving and setts, blockwork, construction of fencing, turfing and seeding.

· Basic principles of horticulture

HORTICULTURALIST / LEAD GARDENER

Located in the heart of Benenden but operating across the South East, we require a trained horticulturalist capable of all tasks involved in managing and maintaining extraordinary country gardens and landscapes to the highest of standards. Beyond this, working to continually develop gardens and landscapes by planning ahead to ensure we achieve the upmost out of every season within the gardens.

What we are looking for -
- Horticulturally trained and qualified.
- At least five years industry experience.
- Excellent horticultural knowledge.
- Great sense of humour.
- Personable and presentable.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to represent Cunningham Gardens professionally.
- Hard working and take pride in the work you undertake.
- Reliable with excellent time keeping and happy to work in all weathers.
- Exceptionally organised.
- Must have outstanding communication with clients, team and head of maintenance.
- Flexible to accommodate business requirements such as over time when required.
- Full UK drivers license and own means of getting to our HQ, which is of a rural location.

What a delight it has been to help create the garden for at this years Chelsea Flower Show 🌸

Claverton Cloches make the most beautiful hand made cast iron cloches to gardens across the world. They’re an asset to any kitchen garden and will see generations by. You’ll soon find them at our nursery
