So with the weather being kind this last week Elite completed a couple of garden rooms ready for the warmer months ahead consisting of new installed supplies from the house for a local fuse board to supply new power and lighting.
The first unit being twin walled was able to be wired on the exterior of the building to minimalism internal wiring with kinetic switches to operate internal spot lights and exterior ip rated LED strip in aluminium channel. The second unit being a single skin unit required wiring to be internal of the building within conduit system due to available space around the exterior. Each garden room is wired to allow for flexibility to alter and expand should they be reconfigured for use by the clients in future.

Having recently carried out an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) at The Walled Garden Cafe in Tilgate Park, I am happy to say that the remediation works was completed within the allocated time frame to minimise the closure of the business, whilst the main restaurant and kitchen fuse board was replaced and other small remediation works completed.

Initially called to site to remove a decommissioned hot tub supply, but after having a chat with the home owner we discussed the possibility of installing exterior wall lights over the new patio seating area. Installing a kinetic switch for remote switching, Elite was able to deliver the customers requirements with very little conduit on show. Massive help from with routing cables.

Today’s not so little job was to upgrade a fuse board to RCBO with Surge device incorporated after existing fuse board which was originally installed just 5 years ago in 2019 on a new build in Crawley area was a state and required updating for new works to be compliant.

Standards shown on existing installation just goes to show how the cheaper price is never the best, rubble left in the bottom, cables dressed like a birds nest and even the main earth cable connection was loose within terminal, and to top it off the last sparks who attended in 2021 decided because there was no spare ways within the fuse board was to run a new sub main cable for the garage from the main fuse (6mtrs away) in the meter cupboard with no switch fuse for protection.

After rerouting the garage cable back to the house fuse board and installing a new consumer unit with spare capacity for expansion this was certainly an improvement on the existing.
