Week 9 complete ✅

Just under 80m of trenches excavated to 1m for the installation of the water main.

This required the cutting and breaking of the existing concrete drive/yard. The concrete slab was between 4 to 6 inches deep which made it a tedious task to complete.

The ground conditions were perfect for digging with a sandy soil consistency.

After an inspection and a pass from the utilities inspector we then needed to back fill to a level of 600mm below ground level for the new main electric supply to be fitted shortly.

End of week 8 and the roof is complete and the scaffolding has been taken down.

What a transformation!

Next week we will be digging approximately 80m of trenches for a new main water supply and mains power, ready for the utility company's to install.

We finally got back on site today after the Christmas break, with an additional two days snowed off.

And that's a wrap for 2025

End of week 7 on the Shippon build!

The UPVC Roofline is complete and ready for tiling in the new year.

Week 5 complete

The first stages to becoming water tight.

Felt and battens installed ✅

Just over 1800 Donards loaded by hand ✅

Week 4 ticked off ✅

It's been a hectic week with stormy weather trying to hold us back, but deadlines are still being met.

Week 4 sees the structural roof work completed. Including the installation of trusses and a section of traditional hand cut roof.

It also sees the existing attached tool shed being slightly rebuilt to become a new open fronted porch.

An incredible team effort has smashed the target again for this week.

Next week we will be installing the UPVC roofline ready for the felt and battens and the to be loaded out.

After a busy two days in the wind and rain we have installed and braced the new trusses.

Tomorrow we will be building up the brickwork to carry the traditional roof over the last quarter of the build and over the porch.

More progress pictures to come on Friday.

End of week 3 and the original roof structure has been removed. The damage brickwork has been repaired and wall plates bedded ready for the new trusses on Monday.

End of week 2 and it's been a busy week again.

Scaffolding erected by Cheshire East Scaffolding Ltd

The original roof removed.

Existing electrics made safe.

All the machinery and pipework for the dairy stripped out.

The next stage is to prep for the arrival of the trusses towards the end of the week.

What a difference a week makes!

The team have worked extremely hard.

The Shippon site has been cleared in preparation for the scaffolding to go up on Monday.

Next up is for the existing roof to be removed for the new trusses to be installed.

Today is the 1st day on our new site and we have been tasked with turning the old Shippon milking parlour into a 2 bedroom dwelling.

This requires everything from the ground up to be renewed. Only the original Cheshire brickwork will remain after being cleaned, repaired and re-pointed.

This is our biggest project to date and 1st new build, with all services needing to be installed.

Keep an eye out for updates as this is going to be a massive transformation and we are very excited to start work.
