On Saturday 26th September, we came together for the London Bridges Walk, completing 7.1 miles through London in support of .

It was a really special day and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who walked alongside us, supported us and donated. Every mile walked and every donation made helps the Foundation continue to be there for people at a time when they may need support the most.

Led by Justine, the Rowland Brothers Foundation provides counselling, support groups, walks and events for people experiencing bereavement, creating opportunities to talk, connect with others and feel supported through grief.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part in the day and continues to support the work of the Foundation.

Congratulations to Warlingham RFC on an incredible 101–0 victory over Woking.

Yes, personal belongings can be placed with someone when they are buried.

Families may choose to include items that held particular meaning to their loved one, such as photographs, handwritten letters, a favourite book, small keepsakes or something connected to a hobby or interest.

These personal touches can be a comforting way to reflect their personality, relationships and the life they lived.

There may, however, be restrictions on what can be placed in a coffin depending on the cemetery or burial ground and its individual regulations. This can be particularly important with certain materials or larger items.

What is possible will depend on where the funeral is taking place. Crematoria, cemeteries, churches and other venues will have their own opening hours and availability, and there may also be practical considerations such as staffing, transport and the services required on the day.

A peaceful setting for a very personal goodbye.

Not every funeral has to take place in a traditional setting. For some families, somewhere surrounded by open space and countryside can feel much more fitting for the person they are remembering.

Rowland Brothers works closely with Farleigh Golf Club to give families the option of holding a funeral service in the beautiful Surrey countryside.

The space can be adapted for both smaller, intimate gatherings and larger services, with the freedom to include flowers, photographs, music and other personal touches that reflect the life of your loved one.

Our team will be there to help with the arrangements and work alongside Farleigh to make sure everything is in place on the day, giving families the time and space to simply be together and say goodbye.
