When you’re modelling an ornate building in Revit and trying to keep the decorative features simple… but then you zoom out and realise you’ve accidentally created a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle! 😂🐢🥷
The circular ornament became the head, the scrollwork became the shell/body, and now we can’t unsee it!
Reducing the level of detail doesn’t always go quite as planned… but at least this model now has its own character! 😂

New UK Office – Warrington!

We’re delighted to let our clients, partners and connections know that Output Precision has officially relocated our UK office to Birchwood Park, Warrington.

Birchwood Park is home to many engineering, construction and technology businesses, making it an ideal location for us. Being surrounded by like-minded companies creates new opportunities to collaborate, build relationships and support both existing and future clients.

Life at Output Precision isn't just about scanning, modelling and delivering projects.
Over the past few months, we've also been out meeting clients, catching up with industry partners, attending exhibitions, and making new connections.
While technology is a huge part of what we do, we believe the best relationships are still built through face-to-face conversations. Every meeting gives us the opportunity to better understand our clients' needs, exchange ideas, and learn about the latest developments across the industry.
It's been a busy few months, and we're grateful to everyone who has taken the time to meet with us.

Today is one of the hottest days in the UK! Stay safe, drink plenty of water and don't forget your sun cream.
Back to business! Our new scanner reached 42.5°C with a peak temperature of 43.5°C while operating. A few months ago, we saw similar temperatures with our NavVis MLX during fieldwork.
It looks like testing survey equipment in extreme heat is becoming part of the job... We might have to call it the !

Half term is over. Back to reality... and plenty of point clouds.

The team has a busy few weeks ahead, with several new projects starting, including two in Scotland. With the fieldwork complete, we're now deep into registration, post-processing and Scan-to-Revit/BIM workflows, turning billions of points into accurate Revit models.A lot happens between pressing the scan button and delivering a model.

“From Stockport to Berlin…’’***

For our team, it’s more like from the South Coast to Scotland.

It’s been a busy few weeks for the Output Precision team, delivering site work across the UK on a wide variety of projects.

From industrial facilities and commercial buildings to heritage and infrastructure sites, every project comes with its own challenges but that’s exactly what keeps the job interesting.

With a mix of terrestrial laser scanning, mobile mapping, and survey-grade control, our team has been putting in the miles to capture accurate data and keep projects moving.

Plenty of early starts, travel, problem-solving, and teamwork both on site and back in the office.

A big thank you to the team for the hard work. On to the next one.

Fire plans don’t always need slow, traditional capture methods.
For larger or more complex buildings, mobile mapping with the NavVis MLX can be a practical way to quickly capture existing conditions for fire planning and escape route assessments.
The captured data can support fire plan development in line with recognised industry standards such as PIBS, giving consultants and design teams reliable existing building information while keeping disruption on site to a minimum.

Not every project needs this approach, but when speed, access and coverage matter, mobile mapping can be a very efficient solution.
And one thing we’ve noticed recently… Evertonians really are everywhere 😄🔵
