By February 2022 all homes in Scotland must be fitted with interlinked alarms.

In a three bedroom house you'll need three smoke alarms and one heat alarm. If you have a carbon-fuelled appliance - like a boiler or a log burning stove - you'll also need a carbon monoxide detector.
