Congratulations to our Senior Architectural Technologist, Gordon Aitken, who recently achieved ‘Passive House Designer’ Certification. An achievement that demonstrates his dedication to improving the future of energy efficient housing in Scotland.
This recognition follows 3 months of study with industry experts (Co-Action training) and extensive revision for the Passive House Institute exam. He also recently completed his own Passive House self-build project.
A career defining moment and the continuation of a journey to help shape the future of energy efficient housing to the Passive House standards in Scotland.

CSY Architects are currently seeking graduates to join our team. This opportunity is open to graduates or graduate apprentices with a background in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or Interior Design.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about design, from the early design stages, through technical development and on the construction phase. The role will include involvement in drawing production and graphic communication of designs and will be an opportunity for the right candidates to gain experience, with the potential for the role to develop as the candidate grows.

The role could be based at any of our office locations in the Lothians, Fife, Borders, and Northumberland.

CSY Architects are currently seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist or Architectural Designer to join our employee-owned practice. We are particularly interested in adding to our growing expertise in energy, sustainability and retrofit projects, and accreditation in these areas would be of particular interest.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about architecture and have experience of delivery from the early design stages, through technical development and on the construction phase. The role will also include energy calculations and advising other members of the team on the application of these principles.

The role could be based at any of our four office locations in the Lothians, Fife, Borders, or Northumberland.

We are pleased to share that CSY Architects has officially become an accredited Living Wage Employer.

At CSY Architects, paying our employees fairly has always been a priority - this accreditation now formally recognises this. This important milestone reflects a commitment that sits at the heart of our values: treating people fairly, supporting wellbeing, and recognising the contribution that every member of our team makes to the practice.

The Living Wage is independently calculated based on the real cost of living, ensuring that pay better reflects the realities people face. Becoming accredited demonstrates our commitment to creating a workplace where people feel valued, respected and supported.

Fairer, better work is at the heart of what the Living Wage campaign is trying to achieve, going further than the government minimum. CSY Architects is now listed on the Living Wage Foundation website.

Our recent CSY Team Social day took us to Indigo Yard, a stylish bar in Edinburgh’s West End. This venue was originally designed by DBP in 1996 - one of the earlier companies that now makes up the CSY Team. It’s incredible to see the space still thriving 30 years on. A great setting to reconnect and enjoy time together as a team.

This week, the CSY team came together in Edinburgh at PizzaExpress for a well-deserved social day. With our staff based between our four regional offices, its always a great opportunity when we can get together for a team day.

We began the day with a pizza making class, mastering the art of stretching and tossing dough before creating our own perfect combinations. After lunch, we rounded off the day at Indigo Yard Edinburgh with a relaxed afternoon of drinks and catch-ups.
A fantastic way to reconnect as a team!
