Then our ideas are drawn up by hand before going to our CAD department to be mocked up into colourful 3D images.

Dai is preparing to design and build his own kitchen in the coming months. This stage is all about gathering inspiration.

Inspired by Jamie Oliver's "Quick and Easy Food" on Channel 4, he's spotted a gas hob unit that will install directly into the kitchen top, a modern rustic set of larder draws for things like herbs and jars, and reclaimed industrial-style fixtures and fittings made from cast iron.

It's a couple of steps away from the traditional style he's known for producing but this is an aesthetic he's keen to work on!
