Stevenage & District Model Railway Club We are a small Model Railway club first established in 1962 as the Lea Valley MRC. Mornings - Wednesday
Evenings - Monday/Wednesday O Gauge. N Gauge - Sandmarch.

Based in North Hertfordshire, local to Knebworth/Stevenage and surrounding communities, we meet four times a week. We are an established Model Railway Club in North Hertfordshire, a short distance from the towns of Stevenage and Knebworth. Currently, we have three different gauged layouts within our club. All of which are DC and DCC compatible. Our O gauge layout is currently being rebuilt. Once c

omplete we will have a large 4-track O gauge permanent layout which runs around the edge of our club building, There is a separate terminus station and a branch line with many sidings, stations, and some areas under construction and development. The various sections of the layout will be DC/DCC switchable. Within the circumference of the O will be a pair of permanent N and OO loops allowing for over 20 meters of uninterrupted running. Each loop will be DC/DCC switchable. OO Gauge - Coleware
Coleware is our 00 gauge layout and has regularly gone to many local exhibitions. It is switchable between DC and DCC, it has a double-track circuit with a branch line from the station to the ample fiddle yard. The newest layout in the club, Sandmarch is DC/DCC switchable and has two different set-up configurations. The layout use Kato track and depending on set up has 2 or 3 independent running loops, a small goods yard and an end to end shuttle on a viaduct across the layout. As well as our layouts, which we always encourage new and prospecting members to try out, we also arrange club social evenings and summer trips, send out frequent newsletters, welcome modellers and enthusiasts from all ages and backgrounds, and generally aim to enjoy ourselves. Between members, we have a great range of skills and experiences, so if you're new to model rail, or want some advice, we can help you out! We met four times a week. Monday/Wednesday evenings (19:30-21:30), and Wednesday/Thursday mornings (10:00-13:00).
