Most people don’t realise this…

Your boiler shouldn’t be using the air inside your home.

Modern boilers are designed to be completely sealed and take air from outside — but when that seal is compromised, it can become unsafe.

This one was classed as At Risk until the correct seals are replaced.

It’s not always obvious just by looking or listening — which is why a proper service matters.

If your boiler hasn’t been checked in a while and you’re in Derby, it’s worth getting it looked at 👍

Hot water problems? This was a recent job in Derby 👇

The existing cylinder was beyond repair, so it was replaced with a new one.

Old one out, new one in, and everything back up and running properly again 👍

Originally called out to replace a faulty immersion heater, but further inspection showed the cylinder itself had severe corrosion and long-term leakage.

Unfortunately once deterioration reaches this stage, repair is rarely the sensible option.

A replacement cylinder is now booked in for next week to get everything safe, reliable and watertight again.

Catching smaller leaks early can often prevent a much bigger job later on.

Poor hot water? Boiler not performing like it used to?

This is something we found on a recent job in Derby 👇

Even though a magnetic filter was fitted, sludge had still built up enough to block the plate heat exchanger.

That can lead to:
• Poor hot water performance
• Boiler faults
• Reduced efficiency
• Costly repairs if ignored

Filters are a great addition, but they’re only one part of keeping a heating system healthy. Regular servicing and system water quality checks still matter.

If your boiler isn’t working as it should, it may be worth getting it checked before it turns into a bigger problem.
