Steven Michael Loft Conversion Specialists is looking for an experienced, multi-skilled carpenter to help with upcoming loft conversion projects across Northamptonshire.

We’re looking for someone who:

✅ Has strong carpentry and general building skills
✅ Produces high-quality, tidy work
✅ Is reliable and takes pride in their work
✅ Can work well as part of a small team

Another big step forward on our latest loft conversion 🔨🏠

Despite the extreme temperatures the steels are fully bolted together, posts and ridge steel installed, followed by the joist hangers fixed to the steel web infills.

Timber delivery from landed just in time 👌 and we’re now getting stuck into constructing the dormer and flat roof.

Starting to take shape now! 💪

It’s steels day!! 💪

Getting the structural steels winched up, manoeuvred into position, and fitted into the loft.

Not the easiest job!
Due to a telegraph pole and multiple overhead cables we couldn’t get a crane in on this one, so every steel had to be spliced into sections, winched up, and then positioned by hand.

A job that takes careful planning, precision, and great teamwork, but the end result makes it all worthwhile.

Every beam has to be spot on. 👌

🔨 A new project is underway…

We’ve recently started work on a hip-to-gable loft conversion one of the most extensive types of loft conversion you can undertake.

Unlike a standard loft conversion, this involves altering the existing roof structure to create a full gable end, allowing for significantly more usable space and a much larger room upstairs.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be taking you behind the scenes, sharing the project from start to finish, from the structural work and steel installation through to the finished loft.
