Spotted in local waters: The stunning superyacht Nariida (originally launched as Wallygator II).

Measuring an impressive 32 metres (105 feet), this iconic vessel is a true piece of marine history. Interestingly, she was originally built back in 1994 by Concordia Custom Yachts in Dartmouth, Massachusetts—proving that the Dartmouth name has long been associated with top-tier craftsmanship!

Key Specifications & Facts:
* Builder: Concordia Custom Yachts (Dartmouth, MA, USA).
* Launch Year: 1994 (originally as Wallygator II).
* Designers: Luca Brenta & Co. and Wally (Luca Bassani Design).
* Dimensions: Length overall of 32.04 metres with an 8-metre beam and a 4.85-metre draught.
* Innovation: A true trailblazer as one of the very first all-carbon-fiber and Kevlar maxi yachts, combining high-tech performance with luxury cruising.

As the world's introduction to advanced lightweight composite engineering in superyachts, vessels of this extraordinary pedigree routinely command multi-million dollar valuations.

WOOD OF THE WEEK: Pine 🪵👇

This week’s spotlight is on Pine—one of the most versatile and accessible timbers in the industry. Whether you are looking for a cost-effective solution or a modern performance upgrade, Pine is a reliable staple for any project.

🛠️ WHY WE LOVE IT:

• Accessible & Versatile: Natural Pine is a highly popular, budget-friendly choice that works beautifully for everything from framing to internal joinery.

• Thermal Performance: We are now seeing incredible results with Thermo Pine, a heat-treated hybrid that offers enhanced stability and rot resistance, making it a high-performance alternative for modern builds.

• Workability: Its soft, consistent grain makes it a joy to work with, allowing for precise detailing and a smooth finish on both structural and decorative elements.

🏗️ PINE IN YOUR PROJECT:

• Pine is the workhorse of the construction world, but it also carries its own unique charm:

• Cost-Efficiency: A brilliant choice for large-scale builds or internal structures where you want quality without the premium hardwood price tag.

• Modern Upgrades: Using Thermo Pine allows us to bring the warmth of natural timber into outdoor applications with significantly reduced maintenance and warping.

• Aesthetic Flexibility: It takes stains and paints exceptionally well, giving you the freedom to customize the look to match your existing interior or exterior design.

🌲 TIMBERBUILT PRO TIP:
When using natural Pine outdoors, ensure it is properly pressure-treated to prevent decay. If you're looking for that premium longevity without the worry, ask us about upgrading your design to Thermo Pine for a superior, weather-resistant finish.

👇 The Big Question:
Are you a fan of the classic, natural look of Pine, or are you interested in how newer, heat-treated hybrids like Thermo Pine can improve your project? Let us know in the comments!

WOOD OF THE WEEK: European Oak 🪵👇

This week’s spotlight is on the gold standard of timber: European Oak. Renowned for its strength, character, and timeless appeal, it’s a material that never goes out of style.

🛠️ WHY WE LOVE IT:

• Unmatched Durability: A dense, hard-wearing timber that stands up to the elements and heavy use, making it ideal for both structural builds and fine joinery.

• Classic Character: Known for its iconic grain pattern and warm, straw-colored hues that develop a beautiful, rich patina as the wood matures.

• Versatility: Whether left natural, oiled, or stained, European Oak finishes exceptionally well and brings a premium, high-quality aesthetic to any project.

🏗️ WHY CHOOSE OAK?

When you build with European Oak, you aren't just choosing wood—you're choosing longevity. It is the perfect choice for:

• Bespoke Joinery: Creating internal features that serve as the focal point of a room.

• Architectural Framing: Providing structural integrity with a natural, sophisticated finish.

• Premium Outdoor Features: When properly maintained, its natural tannin content and density make it a robust choice for garden structures that need to last.

🌲 TIMBERBUILT PRO TIP:
Oak is a "lively" timber that reacts to moisture changes. Always ensure your design includes proper expansion gaps and high-quality, professional sealing to prevent movement and keep those clean, sharp lines intact for the long haul.

👇 The Big Question:
Are you a fan of the light, natural look of fresh European Oak, or do you prefer the classic, silver-grey aesthetic it gains after years of exposure? Let us know in the comments!

WOOD OF THE WEEK: African Walnut 🪵👇

This week’s spotlight is on African Walnut—a timber that combines serious durability with an aesthetic that demands attention.

🛠️ WHY WE LOVE IT:

• Rich Character: It features a deep golden-brown to bronze heartwood, accented with striking, dark streaks that provide incredible visual depth.

• Exceptional Stability: Known for its structural integrity, this timber stands up perfectly to both interior and exterior applications.

• Built-in Resilience: It is highly resistant to dents, scratches, and everyday wear, making it a premier choice for high-traffic environments.

🏗️ PEAK ENTERTAINMENT: THE PROJECT

We completed a dual-build project designed for the ultimate lifestyle experience:

• The Gym & Spa: A dedicated garden gym featuring a bespoke canopy to house a luxury hot tub.

• The Social Hub: A family-friendly garden room complete with its very own high-spec internal bar.

• Architectural Finish: Built with anthracite aluminium windows, sliding doors, and bifold doors. We incorporated built-in storage with flush doors that flow seamlessly with the vertical cladding.

• Outdoor Living: The area includes custom seating with rendered planters, floating benches, rain-screen fencing, artificial grass, and integrated ground lighting to tie the entire theme together.

🌲 TIMBERBUILT PRO TIP:
Always prioritize high-quality fixings when working with premium hardwoods. Proper installation ensures your cladding maintains its sleek, clean lines and structural integrity for years to come.

👇 The Big Question:
Are you a fan of the rich, deep tones of African Walnut, or do you prefer a lighter, natural finish for your garden structures? Let us know in the comments!
