Tarmac driveway completed this week in Lisvane. Preparation and base tarmac layer was done a few months ago. Due to the width of the driveway and preferring to lay it in one without a joint we decided to hold off for a warm day to install the wearing coat and Friday was that day and proved well worth the wait. 45 ton of 20mm base tarmac was laid at a depth of 50mm and 20 ton of 6mm top coat at a depth of 30mn. Due to the time passed between the two layers a good power wash was needed and a heavy coat of leotac. (bitumen emulsion) sprayed to help with bonding.
