📢 A QUICK UPDATE FROM STEVEO'S

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has already sent me their updated contact details. I really appreciate it. 😊

If you haven't yet, could you please send them over when you get a spare minute? There's no massive rush — just whenever you have time.

Things are looking positive with the new member of staff! He's been really keen, has already dropped all his paperwork off and is due to start on 14th September. His uniform has been ordered and I've also invested in new equipment ready for him. 💪

He'll initially be working alongside me and fully trained to make sure everything is done to the same standard you've come to expect from Steveo's. Once he's fully trained, there will be days when he's out working independently.

This is also why I'm changing the way I let customers know their windows have been cleaned.

Instead of posting cards through the door, once the clean has been ticked off on the day's worksheet, I'll send you a text confirming that your windows have been cleaned. 📱✨

Hopefully this will:

✅ Stop cards getting lost or missed
✅ Make things easier for my new member of staff
✅ Prompt quicker payments
✅ Reduce the need for payment reminder messages

It's all part of making the business run more smoothly as Steveo's grows, while still keeping the same personal service and standards.

🎉 GREAT NEWS FROM STEVEO’S! 🎉

After nearly 12 years of doing pretty much everything myself, I’m really pleased to say that Steveo’s is officially growing! 🚐💦

I've just finished an interview and I'm delighted to say Paul will be joining Steveo’s Exterior Cleaning Services from 14th September! 👏

Paul will initially be working alongside me while I personally train him to my standards and the way I like things done. I’ve spent 12 years building my reputation and gaining the trust of my customers, so I won't be throwing somebody in at the deep end — he'll be properly trained before working independently.

Once he's ready, there will be days when Paul heads out in my van on his own, keeping your windows sparkling and providing the same friendly, reliable service you've come to expect from Steveo’s. 🪟✨

This is a massive step for me personally as well as for the business.

I've worked extremely hard for a long time and I'm finally at the stage where I need to take a little step back. Having Paul on board will hopefully mean I can have some much-needed extra days off, while knowing the business and my customers are still being properly looked after.

Don't worry though... I'm not disappearing! 😂

I'll still be very much involved, still out working, still seeing customers and still making sure everything is done properly — I just won't have to try and do absolutely everything myself anymore.

So when you start seeing a new face alongside me, make sure you give Paul a warm Steveo’s welcome! 👋

💙 A BIT OF AN UPDATE FROM ME & STEVEO'S 💙

As a lot of you know, I've been struggling with a few pain issues recently and I've been advised that I need to start slowing down a little.

The problem is, when you're self-employed, "slowing down" doesn't pay the bills, the VAT, the van, the equipment or all the other costs that come with running a business! 😂

So after nearly 12 years of doing pretty much everything myself, I think it's finally time for the next chapter of Steveo's.

I'm currently in the process, fingers crossed 🤞, of bringing someone on board next month. He'll work alongside me, be fully trained by me and learn exactly how I like things done. Eventually, when I need a day off or some time to recover, he'll be able to take my van out and provide the same standard of service you've come to expect from me.

I'm also in talks with a younger lad about joining me a couple of days a week and helping with canvassing and bringing new work into the business.

The goal? Enough work to eventually have two lads working full-time, while I'm still very much involved and hands-on, just without having to physically do everything myself every single day.

After 12 years, the workload is starting to take its toll and I need to start working a little smarter.

I'm incredibly proud of what I've built. Steveo's currently ranks amongst the top results on Google across Ripon, Harrogate and Thirsk, and we've also been recognised on ThreeBestRated.

I might not always be the cheapest — some of you probably think I'm the most expensive 😂 — but my prices are consistent regardless of which area you live in. I invest heavily in professional equipment and always aim to provide the same 5-star standard, clean after clean.

This year I pushed the business towards the VAT threshold, and the support from all of you has been unbelievable. I wouldn't have got here without customers continuing to book, recommend me and trust me with their properties.

Now it's time to hopefully grow Steveo's again while giving my body a little bit of a rest.

Nothing is set in stone yet and, as we all know, things don't always go to plan! But I'm currently talking with two potential members of staff and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Please bear with me while I work everything out, and I really hope you'll continue supporting Steveo's Exterior Cleaning Services through the next stage of the journey.

Every day at the minute I'm getting customers saying how good I look, how much I've changed and that they can't believe I was ever as big as I used to be! 😂

A few of you have even asked me for proof...

So here it is! 😂🙈

⚠️ WARNING: If you're eating your breakfast, maybe finish it first... you may feel sick! 😂😂

But joking aside, the comments genuinely mean a lot to me.

Even today, working on a Saturday, tired and exhausted, customers are noticing such a big change in me — not just physically, but in myself generally — and hearing people say that makes all the hard work worthwhile.

I've been doing this for nearly 12 years, and after cleaning some of your homes for so long, I don't really see many of you as just "customers" anymore.

I'd genuinely call so many of you friends, and some of you have almost become like family. ❤️

You've watched me build the business, seen the good days and the bad days, listened to me moan 😂, watched my life change and continued supporting Steveo’s year after year.

And even on the days when I'm absolutely shattered, struggling or working through pain, it's the chats, laughs and kindness from my customers that make the job worthwhile.

12 years of hard graft has given me much more than just a business — it's given me some amazing people in my life.

🌧️ RAINY DAY = OFFICE DAY! 💻☕

No cleaning today, so I'm taking advantage of the weather and having a much-needed day in the office, reorganising my rounds, going through the diary and working out exactly what's what between now and Christmas.

And after actually sitting down and looking at the numbers... I think I've finally realised how much I've taken on! 😂

Currently in the diary between now and Christmas:

🪟 817 regular window cleans
🏢 70 commercial window cleans
🍂 62 gutter clears
☀️ 5 solar panel cleans
🏠 10 one-off window cleans

That's 964 jobs already booked! 😳

I hate to say it because I've always struggled to turn work away, but I think my books may officially have to CLOSE from 1st September until I break up for Christmas.

The exciting part is that I'm currently looking at taking on staff. 🤞 I've got one person looking very promising for next month, which would be a massive help and a big step forward for Steveo’s.

But looking at the workload properly today, I'm starting to think one extra pair of hands might not actually be enough! 😂

Realistically, I may need to look at having one full-time member of staff AND possibly another part-time member to help get through everything, especially during the crazy autumn gutter season.

The plan is to train the right person properly, get them confident with my customers and standards and eventually have another Steveo’s van out working alongside me. 🚐🚐

After nearly 12 years of being used to doing everything myself, it's going to be a big change handing some responsibility over — but with 964 jobs already sitting there before Christmas, I think the business has reached the point where it's necessary.

I'd rather build a good team and continue giving customers the service they're used to than keep taking everything on myself and stretching myself too far.

So hopefully Steveo’s is about to become a little team rather than just Steve! 💪

Why can't I just say NO?! 😂😂

It's not even 9am yet and somehow I've already taken on...

🍂 3 BIG gutter-clearing jobs
🏠 2 regular gutter clears
🪟 2 big one-off house window cleans
💦 6 new regular window-cleaning customers

All before I've even properly started the working day! 😂

I keep telling myself, "Steve, you're busy enough... STOP taking more work on!"

Then my phone goes...

"Yeah, no problem, I'll get you booked in." 🤦‍♂️😂

Nearly 12 years of building Steveo’s and apparently I still haven't learnt how to say no!

So, serious question...

Does anyone have a cloning machine? 😂

Because at this rate I'm going to need Steveo 2.0 out in another van pretty quickly! 🚐💨

The good news is... fingers crossed help could be on the way! 🤞 I've got two people very interested in joining Steveo’s, so hopefully it won't be too long before there's another van out on the road and I can finally share some of this workload!

Due to an extremely busy workload and continued growth, I’m looking for the right person to join Steveo’s ASAP.

This isn’t just a few hours here and there — I’m looking for someone who wants regular work, responsibility and the opportunity to progress within the business.

💷 £16.00 per hour starting wage
⏰ Around 30 hours per week
🚐 Insured to drive my company van
📈 Opportunity to have your own work van after 6 months

THE PERSON I NEED

Because you'll be driving my van, using professional equipment and dealing directly with customers, trust is absolutely essential.

✅ Trustworthy and respectful
✅ Professional around customers and their properties
✅ Hard-working and willing to graft
✅ Able to work independently once trained
✅ Take pride in doing a job properly
✅ Comfortable working outside in all conditions

Experience in window cleaning or exterior cleaning would be a big advantage, but attitude, reliability and trust are just as important to me.

The work will include window cleaning, gutter clearing, conservatory cleaning and general exterior cleaning across both residential and commercial properties.

I've spent nearly 12 years building Steveo’s reputation, so I'm looking for somebody who understands the standards I expect and will represent the business properly.

For the right person, there is genuine opportunity to progress. Prove yourself over the first 6 months and the aim is to get you into your own van, taking on more responsibility and earning extra through leads, commission and bonuses.
