Nice job completed recently.

We were tasked with designing a PLC control system to run 3 pumps in a sequence to maintain a pressure set point while monitoring flow, motor temperatures, motor vibration to action any problems with the pumps before they get too bad, power consumption and much more.

The problem we faced was there was no network in the pump house as the factory is quite some distance away from the river with a busy main road, businesses and residential properties in between the factory and the pump house making monitoring and alarm notifications ‘impossible’ to be seen in the factory. To get around this we installed a couple of IoT gateways within the control panel and a big 4G antenna as any mobile data signal at the pump house was virtually non existent also!

Now the notifications can reach the relevant people via email/text message and the HMI can be viewed from anywhere in the world from a smartphone, tablet or laptop giving the customer instant access to view and control the system when alarm notifications arise and they can see in real time what is happening with the system.

The pictures show the pump house in its original state, a couple of progress pictures of the panel design and build, the pump house with the new control system installed and running the new pumps and the system being viewed from a laptop about 80 miles away from site.

For the install we had 7 days to provide the full pump house electrical and control installation, including small power distribution, lighting and sockets! Massive effort by the team and thanks to those efforts we were commissioning on day 7.

No network on site but still need updates on whether things are running as they should be?

This was the case on these un-manned rural waste water treatment sites which required monitoring on their filter beds to alert the relevant people upon failure.

We managed to provide 2 remote monitoring panels fully built, programmed, tested and then installed on 2 different sites in just a 4 day turn around.

These systems will monitor the arms on the filter beds and in the case of seeing no rotation for a set period of time, they will then send out text messages to the relevant personnel in order to arrange an operative to attend site to resolve any issues before the site backs up and causes sewage spillages.

Plant monitoring is one of the most effective tools you can utilise to prevent downtime or in the case of waste water, pollutions into waterways. If you can see the problem coming before it happens its a lot more manageable than when it hits unexpectedly!

We can tailor a system to suit any environment or industry be it a simple fix like this or a full site solution!

Busy end to the week in the workshop. Work has begun on this dual fan control panel. It is essentially 2 separate systems incorporated into one enclosure. Once installed on site it will have 2 separate supplies coming in from different distribution boards to allow for seamless performance when any maintenance is to be carried out on one of the fans or if power is lost to one system, the other takes over meaning no loss in performance. Perfect set up for any critical equipment that is part of a production facility.

Some work starting today installing a pump and panel being powered from generators to assist with water flow as one of the big 110KW screws has failed.

Full install of the pipework should be finished by friday to be able to power up and test.

This job came in late on friday, the customer had tried to install a new pump on a system they had in place that wasn’t capable of running a pump of that size and no way of modifying the existing kit in place.

We came to the conclusion that it would have to run on a VSD but didn’t even have a VSD at that time!!
Eventually tracked one down and started with a pile of parts and not even a circuit diagram yesterday morning.

Fast forward to today the circuits have been designed and the panel fully built ready to go out and run the pump tomorrow morning, complete with drawings and even a frame built to mount the panel onto which will be assembled on site to save room in the van. Not bad for 2 days work.

If carlsberg made electricians… 😎

Another first fix done for

This one on this 4 bed detached property including full rewire of lighting, sockets, cookers, shower, outside lighting all round the property (9 in total), outdoor sockets, CCTV including 2 x PTZ cameras along with 4 x fixed cameras leaving no blind spots, mains powered and interlinked heat and smoke detectors, network installed to each room of the house, TV aerial points in every room, garage sockets lighting network and tv point all metal clad and fitted in conduit, and last but not least a 6+6 dual RCD consumer unit.

Look forward to getting back for the second fix and seeing the job finished!

How it starts ➡️ The process ➡️ The result.

Been using the wall chaser and hoover for a while now and have been impressed from day 1. Makes the job so much easier and the end result is far better than going all out with a hammer drill and chisel bit.
