Found in a fireplace!

Turned from chimney sweep to ‘chimney sleuth’ during a recent sweep when I discovered these nails in a fireplace. 🕵️

What do you think the reason for them being there was? Perhaps some builders left off-cuts of timber that were too tempting not to burn!? 🤔

Did you know? 🤔 👀

If a fire is being run too hot, it can cause soot to crystallise - as shown in this picture.

Regularly running your fire at these temperatures can cause a stove and flue to be permanently damaged!

Another 'before and after' post ✨

On looking back to share some pictures from a satisfying sweep. I removed LOTS of soot from this chimney and was very happy to get it ready to use again ☺️
