Capital grade Welsh slate. A light-filled glasshouse. Views across the grounds.

At Manor Farmhouse in Dorset, we resolved long-standing water ingress and replaced a tired conservatory with a considered contemporary addition all while respecting the building's historic character throughout.

The roof alone tells you everything about our approach to material specification.

A listed building. Four species of bats. A plan that worked.

At Western House in North Dorset, converting a listed building into a contemporary home meant careful planning around an established bat population on site and a pandemic that hit partway through the build.

The result: a garden studio, sauna, and self-catering annex for visiting family, built in partnership with K&B Builders (South West).

New build. Local stone. Rural Dorset.

Low-carbon. Living roof. Hidden in the Dorset AONB.

The sedum roofs at Melcombe Park Farm manage rainwater, support biodiversity, and help these eco retreats sit lightly within one of Dorset's most protected landscapes.

Called 'one-of-a-kind' by the planning officer.

This thatched house in Dorset was once home to William Barnes the Victorian poet who taught Thomas Hardy to write.

Old Came Rectory is Grade II listed, and our work here covered everything from Listed Building Consent through to bespoke joinery and a full interior rework, all designed to sit quietly within a building shaped by centuries of careful hands.

The staircase at Sherborne House isn't a circulation route. It's a gallery.

The murals are the work of Sir James Thornhill, a Dorset-born painter best known for the Painted Hall at Greenwich and the inside of the dome of St Paul's Cathedral. The Sherborne mural is a rare survival of his work in a domestic setting.

Our role was to restore and protect it, then make it the heart of a working arts centre.
Shortlisted for three RICS UK Awards 2026.

800 years of craft...

At Barnston Manor, one of the oldest houses in southern England, every timber joint, stone course and iron fitting tells a story. Our role was to listen carefully, then respond with equal care.

Grade I listed. Purbeck valley. Conservation at its most exacting.

The detail is in the stone.

An example of a Grade II* former pastoral residence where every window reveal, stone course and timber sash was carefully restored to match the building's original character.

This is what conservation architecture looks like up close.

Grade I listed. Built in 1485. Now carbon neutral.

Athelhampton Zero is the first Tudor estate in the UK to achieve carbon neutrality, and the winner of the Architects' Journal Retrofit Award 2024, presented in collaboration with SPAB.

Two solar arrays, twelve Tesla Powerwalls, four ground source heat pumps and fifteen air source heat pumps, all installed within a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

The AJ judges said it best: "We were looking for something exceptional and this project really was."
