Cricket field refurbishment 🌱🚜🏏

A few months ago, we were asked to help improve this cricket outfield.

After inspecting the ground and taking some soil samples, we decided that it was in such poor condition that something more drastic was required.

What made this difficult was that the ground is also used as a recreational area. So, in an effort to keep the public happy and leave them plenty of space to walk their dogs and enjoy the area, we concentrated on a sizeable section closer to the cricket pitch, leaving the outer areas clear for public use.

The soil was 98% sand, so after calculating the areas and depths we needed to work to, we introduced 60 tonnes of sterilised premium soil to mix in.

Using a variety of equipment and machinery, we broke up the existing ground, mixed in the new soil, seeded, fertilised and levelled the area, ready for Mother Nature to do her bit!

We’re still going to give the area a light rolling to create a smoother surface and ensure good seed-to-soil contact, but we’re happy and more importantly, so is the customer!
