Attended a family wedding yesterday.
During the quiet bits in-between, I couldn't resist exploring the empty historic building while no-one else was in there. These beautiful and obviously original dividing doors immediately caught my eye. Even on my days off, I just can't help myself 😂
I noticed a couple of issues with the door furniture, that I would love to tinker with, to make them even more special.
But they are beautiful!

Just to round off the story of the bespoke lock 'keep'.
It's status has improved from a fingerplate on a bathroom door of a 1st floor flat, to an important functional feature on the main room door frame of the Council Chamber at grade I listed Maison Dieu Dover Town Hall

'They' say good things come to those who wait. Well, I've been hoping to work on a project for more than a decade. Now, after jumping through several hoops, my (limited) specialist skills have been 'engaged' to sort out a problem others have tried and failed at.
I shall be watched over by the old Duke of Doorset, I mean Dorset, while I undertake the task.

Is there a 'market' for that?
Well I've been doing just that for 7+ years now.
I love the sustainability of what I do
Repair Restore Re-use Recycle ♻️
But with no work during June or July, it's not a sustainable situation for much longer.
If you know a period property with doors that could do with a bit of TLC, could you do me a favour, and point the owners in my direction.
And everyone will live happily ever after.
As the figures in the attached show, there is a market for my niche little enterprise.
