After 35 years’ loyal service, today we said a very fond farewell to our Plant Manager, Chris Kibble, who’s decided that it’s the right time for the next chapter - particularly spending more quality time with his family and enjoying his passion for motocross with Team Kibble.
Chris joined us in 1991, working closely with Mervyn Freeman, and playing a significant role in the development of MF Freeman Group’s Plant Hire division. Chris worked alongside his son, Grant, for 28 of those years, and as the baton is handed over to Grant, his words from a LinkedIn post last year speak volumes: “My Dad is a legend - Plant Manager, Machine Driver, Foreman, Welder, Fitter, Groundworker, Muck Shifter – he can turn his hand to anything; an old-school grafter who gets it done, every time!”
Luke Freeman – Group CEO said, “During Chris’ long and successful career with us, he has been at the forefront of the growth of our Plant business. We wish Chris a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement, spending more time with his family. We are incredibly grateful for his enormous contribution.”
Mervyn commented, “We first met you, Chris, as a young sub contractor working weekends at Whitchurch. You soon settled in and have always been an enthusiastic and versatile colleague, driving a wide range of machines and welding. Over the years, on site, in the workshop, and in the office, your clear, down to earth thinking has helped keep the wheels of the plant department turning smoothly. It has been a pleasure to have you working alongside me as my right hand man for the past 35 years. Your loyalty and support will be greatly missed. Enjoy your retirement, doing the things you love.”
On behalf of all your friends and colleagues, Chris, our sincere thanks. It is with enormous gratitude that we all join in wishing Chris a very long and happy retirement.
