New gas run fitted today on Withymoor Village. The original run was a bit of a mess and was ran on the surface of the walls around a bedroom. It was insufficient for the boiler that was fitted. So I removed the old one and fitted a complete new set up, with the option of adding a gas hob when the customer has the kitchen renovated.

A new hot water cylinder fitted in Halesowen . The old one has split after being in service for many years.

These pictures show the importance of regular boiler services. This is the magnetic filter that is located on the return pipe on the heating circuit.
The job of the magnetic filter is to catch any rust or magnetite from entering the boiler and causing a build up and shortening the life of the boiler.

Work in progress. Hung and piped this up yesterday. Now to fit all the radiators and pipe those up.
We are helping out on a project In Halesowen, turning offices above a bank back into a fully renovated flat.

It's that time of year again

Well it would appear winter is upon us!!!

If your boiler has stopped working it maybe that your condensate pipe is frozen. The boiler may be showing an error code or making gurgling noises.

Check in the manufacturers instructions to see what the error code indicates. If it states flame loss or blocked condensate it stands a chance that it's frozen.

Look outside for a plastic pipe that comes from near the boilers location to a drain, this may be black, white or grey. I would recommend pouring warm water over the pipe to thaw it out. Once the ice has melted the boiler should work, it may need resetting, refer to the manufacturers instructions.

If you don't have them they can be found by googling the make and model of your boiler.

A long term solution to prevent this happening again would be to fit external pipe lagging to your condensate pipe. Keeping it cosy and warm just like you should be!!

Removed this Worcester boiler and replaced it with a new ideal that comes with a 10 year manufacturer’s guarantee. The Worcester had been looked after but the heat engine had gone so it’s time for somthing more modern
