Can you believe it's been two months since our Housing 2026 networking event?!

It doesn't seem that long ago that we welcomed clients, partners and industry colleagues for an afternoon of networking and catching up.

You might have heard the term brownfield site, but what does it actually mean?

A brownfield site is land that has been used before, perhaps for old industrial buildings, warehouses or other developments, and is no longer in use.

Rather than building on untouched green spaces, brownfield sites give us the opportunity to breathe new life into land that's been sitting empty. They can be transformed into much-needed new homes, helping regenerate local areas while making the best use of existing land 👏

Spotlight on: Blackwin Street, Gorton 🏡

Working in partnership with One Manchester, we transformed a former brownfield site into seven high-quality new homes, creating a mix of social and affordable rent properties for the local community.

Blackwin Street was led by one of our Trainee Site Managers, supported throughout by an experienced Project Manager, giving them the opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience while delivering a successful scheme.

The site also exceeded its social value commitments including supporting local work placements and construction careers events and helping Healthy Me, Healthy Communities improve their community garden. It was also recognised with outstanding feedback during its Considerate Constructors Scheme visit.

They're the ones keeping everything moving, coordinating different trades, making sure work is carried out safely and maintaining the high standards we're proud of.

No two days are the same, but every successful project has one thing in common... a great team leading it 👏

New Project Underway for Places for People... 🏡👏

We're pleased to see Jack Robertson get started on his latest project for John Southworth. This refurbishment scheme will transform an existing property into a high-quality shared supported living home, creating accommodation that will make a difference to the lives of future residents.

The works include:
✅ Full strip-out and refurbishment
✅ Chimney stack removal
✅ Roofing remedial works
✅ Formation of a new accessible wet room
✅ New flooring and decoration throughout
✅ Complete electrical installation
✅ New plumbing and heating works

Projects like this one combine technical refurbishment challenges with the opportunity to deliver safe, comfortable and sustainable homes that support local communities. We look forward to sharing progress as the transformation takes shape!

How do air source heat pumps actually work?

Instead of creating heat by burning fuel, an air source heat pump takes warmth from the outside air (even when it's cold!) and uses it to heat your home and hot water.
