A tricky fault find on this one 🔍🔥

Customer was having issues with some radiators not working at all, while others were only getting lukewarm — yet the boiler flow and return were reaching temperature very quickly.

Even with all radiators turned off, the boiler was still behaving the same… so something wasn’t adding up.

After a fair bit of investigation (and lifting more floorboards than I’d like to admit 😅), I traced the pipework back to a previous bathroom renovation. The radiator had been moved, and in the process the pipework had been incorrectly linked together, creating a loop in the system.

This was causing the heating water to bypass the system instead of circulating properly.

✅ Fault traced and diagnosed
✅ Pipework loop removed
✅ Redundant pipework capped off
✅ System recommissioned and running as it should

Three other engineers had previously attended and couldn’t find the issue — sometimes it just takes persistence and a bit of digging (literally).

If your heating system isn’t behaving as it should, don’t ignore the signs — there’s always a reason behind it.

Big upgrade on this one 🔧♻️

We’ve installed a Vaillant AroTHERM Plus heat pump along with a new unvented cylinder, upgraded radiators for better performance and low loss header, designed specifically to handle the flow rate challenges of existing microbore pipework.

This system replaced an older NIBE exhaust air heat pump, which previously extracted warm air from the kitchen, WC, and bathroom to recover heat. With that system removed, a new extraction unit was installed to ensure proper ventilation and moisture control throughout the property.

Another successful install completed! 🔧🔥

We’ve just finished fitting a brand new underfloor heating manifold to serve the first floor circuits, complete with flow and return pipework. The system has been fully wired, including thermostats, actuators, and a wiring centre, all neatly connected back to the boiler for efficient and reliable control.

This setup ensures consistent heat distribution, improved energy efficiency, and greater comfort throughout the home — just how it should be.

Another couple of jobs to help a first time buyer get closer to finishing off they’re home 🔧

First one involved extending cold pipework to allow for a new water meter installation, adding a tail ready to connect up to a sink, and connecting the hot feed as well. Finished it off by bringing a tail down, all set for the sink to be fitted 👌

Second job was a great little transformation — turning an old outhouse into a functional utility room. Installed new waste pipework and ran a cold feed ready for a washing machine, giving the space a whole new purpose 🙌

Stepped in on this job to help get everything over the line 👍

Plumbed an unvented hot water cylinder that’s heated by an air source heat pump and solar thermal system — a great renewable setup 💧☀️

Connected all pipework, safety components, ASHP and Solar controls, and electrics, then filled, tested, and commissioned the system to make sure everything was working exactly as it should.
The cylinder now takes heat from both the ASHP and the solar, giving efficient hot water with lower running costs.

Nice to be part of a future-proof system that’s better for the environment and cheaper to run in the long term 👌

Another full heating system upgrade completed 🔧🔥

This installation included a brand-new oil tank and oil line, supplying a heat-only oil boiler which has been professionally connected to a new unvented hot water cylinder the flue was taken out at high level so it didn’t restrict access to the side of the house. The property now benefits from a balanced mains water system, delivering strong and consistent hot and cold water pressure to all outlets, along with a fully upgraded central heating controls for efficient and reliable heat throughout the home.

This setup provides improved performance, better efficiency, and long-term reliability and designed to be compact to fit inside prebuilt cupboards.
