Another day, another boiler swapped. Old Worcester out, new Baxi in, no dramas.

Old Glow-worm out, Baxi combi in — and this bungalow just got a cupboard back. 😂

Swapped this ageing Glow-worm heat only boiler for a Baxi combi in a single occupancy bungalow in Carnoustie. One person living here, so there's no real need to be storing hot water in a cylinder anymore — a combi just makes more sense and frees up a whole cupboard that used to be dead space.

New flue done properly too, brackets fitted, not strapped and banded like we still see too often. Small detail, but it's the difference between a job that's done and a job that's done right.

Would you want this inside your heating system?

That's what came out when we cut open this Viessmann's plastic hoses, a sludgy, shale like buildup years in the making.

Age and blocked hoses meant it was time for a new Baxi.

Upgraded the gas pipe under the floor too, from 15mm up to 22mm.

Old boiler's problem. Not yours anymore.

If your boiler's getting on a bit, get it checked before it decides for you.

Repairing (ANOTHER) gas leak, from a different POV.

First time using the dual camera option so the footage is a bit... Raw 😂

They say it comes in 3's and here's our 3rd and hopefully final for a while gas leak we've had to trace and repair in the last 2 weeks.

We've been lucky that the repairs recently have been straightforward, this customer was willing to cap off and lose the feed to their cooker as they're about to remodel their kitchen anyway. Praise the lord for that because it was a nasty run in boxing all over the house 😂

If something's just not sitting right with your system, don't wait on it. Get it checked before it becomes a 4th. And if you ever smell gas, call 0800 111 999 straight away.

Three major gas leaks in the last two weeks now. Not sure what's going on.😂

This one was dropping like a stone on our test. Asked the customer if they'd smelled gas and they mentioned a funny smell in the corner of the living room, right next to an old chimney breast, probably where a gas fire used to sit 👀

Found a redundant leg of pipework outside. Capped it off and said a wee prayer, because we had an early finish and a tee time booked for 1.15pm and this was 12.30pm 😅⛳

Worked first time. Tee time made and the customer can sleep easy tonight 😎.

Found a gas leak. Fixed a gas leak. Simple as that.

We were called after a manufacturers visit where the customer indicated they "sometimes" smelt gas. We found a substantial leak upon testing and this required us to re-pipe the gas from the meter straight to the boiler. The old pipework ran under a newly tiled floor where there was no access to carry out a spot repair.

Swapped it all out, pressure tested it, signed off safe. That's the job done properly.

If your boiler's making you uneasy, don't wait it out. A gas leak isn't a "get round to it" job.
