🔥 HOT WEATHER + NEW GAME RELEASES = OVERHEATING SEASON 🔥

We’ve had around 9 Xbox Series S/X consoles in recently with overheating and cooling related issues over the past few days alone.

With the current temperatures and demanding newer games pushing these systems harder than ever, consoles that have never been internally cleaned are really starting to struggle.

This Xbox Series S from today is a perfect example of the UNKNOWN condition inside most peoples consoles.
Externally? Looks pretty clean.
Internally? The heatsink was almost completely blocked with compacted dust and lint, restricting airflow so badly the console was essentially trying to breathe through carpet.

⚠️ Symptoms customers often notice:

🛠️ Another week inside the PlayBox workshop… and this is exactly why proper diagnostics and preventative maintenance matter.

This PS5 came into the workshop from Ward 29 at Ninewells Hospital with a no display fault that wasn’t related to the HDMI port itself. After diagnostics and repair work, it’s now fully tested and back up and running again 🎮

Whenever we can, we try to help out local NHS wards and frontline staff where possible. Saving NHS Scotland money where we can is the least we can do really — myself and my family have benefited massively from the service over the years, so it’s just a small way of showing support and appreciation in return.

Another console saved from landfill and ready to get back to doing what it should 🍀
