This week, thousands of young people across Scotland will receive their exam results.

For some, those results will open the door to university, college or employment. For others, things may not go quite as planned. Whatever your results, remember that one set of grades does not define your future.

At Kilmac, we've seen first-hand that there is no single route into a successful career in construction. Some of our people joined us straight from school, others came through apprenticeships, college, work experience, career change or training programmes. What they all have in common is a willingness to learn, work hard and take opportunities when they arise.

We're proud to support initiatives that help young people discover their potential, because talent isn't measured by exam results alone. Confidence, determination, resilience and attitude can take you just as far.

If you're receiving your results this week, congratulations on everything you've achieved so far. Whatever comes next, keep an open mind, ask questions, explore your options and don't be afraid if your journey looks different to someone else's.

There is no wrong path to success.

We're continuing to grow and are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the Kilmac team, supporting projects across Tayside.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality civil engineering and groundworks projects, taking responsibility for the commercial and contractual management of works from start to finish. You'll be involved in preparing cost plans, valuations, variations and final accounts, while managing subcontractor packages and ensuring projects remain on track financially through effective cost, budget and cash flow management.

A huge congratulations to Petris on an incredible achievement, taking 1st place and earning the title of World’s Strongest Stone Lifter in Norway!

To compete in the world competition is an achievement in itself, but to come away with first place is something truly special.

We also wish Petris the very best of luck for his next challenge in August, where he will attempt to set a new world record at the Donald Dinnie Gathering.

We look forward to following what comes next!

Great to support Lewis last week during his placement with Kilmac.

Over the course of the week, Lewis spent time working alongside our site team, gaining hands-on experience in setting out, surveying, as-builts, QA processes and using equipment such as the GPS Rover and Trimble Total Station. He also developed his understanding of AutoCAD, rebar drawings, specifications and how works are delivered on site.

The feedback from site has been excellent:
“Lewis has taken to engineering and site work incredibly well. He became self-sufficient in setting out right off the bat and got along really well with all the team on site.”

At Kilmac, supporting early careers and giving young people real site experience is a key part of our social value commitment, helping build confidence, develop skills and inspire the next generation of engineers.

💪🏽 Mud, teamwork and a fantastic cause! 💪🏽

A huge well done to our Kilmac team who took on the Tough Mudder challenge on Saturday in support of BBS UK.

Thankfully, the weather held up, making for a brilliant day and an even better experience for everyone involved.

We're incredibly proud to share that the team raised over £1,500 for BBS UK, helping to support the important work they do and making a real difference.

Thank you to everyone who donated, supported and encouraged the team along the way.

A fantastic effort by all involved and a great example of the Kilmac team spirit both on and off site. 👏
