Great to hand over this recent turnkey project for one of our valued care home clients who operate several care homes in the Edinburgh area. This is the 5th lift we have replaced for them over recent years where we aim to remove 20+ year old hydraulic passenger lifts and replace with modern gearless traction models.

All open protocol systems meaning easy for any lift engineer working for any company to work on the equipment. And as standard on all our new lifts - full remote monitoring system installed.

It was great for our North Lanarkshire office team to get out of the office for a bit and meet some of our neighbours here at Willow House, Bellshill.

A big thanks to CrossReach for putting on a really enjoyable “Meet the Neighbours” event at the Hilton in Strathclyde Business Park. Cakes, coffee and even a putting challenge ⛳🍰 (see videos in comments for our MD v our Service Manager)

We had no idea quite how large and impressive the organisation is. Over 1,700 staff and providing an incredible range of support services including children’s homes, care and support for vulnerable people across Scotland.

It was pretty eye opening hearing that it costs around £61m a year to run the charity and the scale of the work they do behind the scenes.

A really good reminder of the amazing organisations and people working around us every day. Well done to everyone involved 👏

It was great to be involved in this fantastic project which saw local businessman Jimmy Marr transform the B listed Victorian building into stunning new apartments.

This building steeped in history - built around 1840 it has been home to wealth jute baron, a hospital during WWI, an officers club for Norwegian officers during WWII, a care home, a university building for languages dept, a restaurant and cocktail bar…. to now luxury apartments!

We removed the old lift and installed a new Raloe gearless traction passenger lift to serve the 4 floors. To match the high end finishes we designed this lift with painted glass back walls which gave it a real high quality finish. Along with bronze stainless steel doors to give it that classy look.

After our successful disabled access lift installation at Dundee Bridge Club, we now have plans to install the same type of lift in the Aberdeen Bridge Club building which dates back to 1852 - a design by Mackenzie and Matthews.

This historic building has been home to the Aberdeen Bridge Club since it was founded back in 1933.

We have put plans in on behalf of the club and we look forward to providing another turn key project where we take on the complete works.

The private club has been housed in the west end granite building since the 1930s, but now bosses want to make it more accessible for their members.

A lot of steel to come out of this 8 stop lift we removed from one of our long standing care home clients in Aberdeen, which is now getting replaced with one of our fabulous gearless traction passenger lifts.

Space was tight on site for skips so we just removed all the steelwork from site and brought it back to our favourite scrap metal merchants Frank Kelbie Limited in Dundee.

This was our first time at their brand new premises and our guys were super impressed with the layout of their new site. Great to see how well they are doing.

This additional mezzanine floor has made a huge difference in expanding our storage capacity for lifts and spare parts. It has both a forklift loading area and space to fit a demo lift planned to be installed very soon.

Thanks to the guys at P&G Fabricators for the design input along with the actual installation works.

Another successful handover from last week 👏

We completed a fast-track replacement of a 100kg BKG service lift at the stunning New Golf Club in St Andrews.

Dating back to 1902, this is one of the most prestigious clubs in St Andrews, so it was important the works were carried out with minimal disruption and to the highest standard.

The project involved removing the existing 1995 BKG lift and installing an exact modern BKG replacement. Thanks to the excellent support from our BKG supplier Shorts Lifts, who quickly sourced the original drawings, we were able to confirm the layout from our site survey — including a 5.2m travel over two floors and a 90-degree adjacent entry configuration.

With a busy kitchen relying on the lift, time was critical. Our team completed the full removal, installation, and making good within just a few days, keeping disruption to an absolute minimum.

Another great team effort and a pleased client at handover 🤝

Last week we handed over a 3-stop platform lift with a 90-degree entrance, installed within its own self-supporting structure at St. Johnstone Football Club’s McDiarmid Park.

The lift now provides safe, reliable disabled access to all levels of the stadium—helping ensure the facility is accessible and inclusive for everyone.
