39 YEARS. ONE INCREDIBLE LEGACY. A NEW CHAPTER AHEAD.

After 39 years with Bentleys, our Projects Director, Colin Mcveigh is retiring.

It's difficult to put 39 years of dedication, leadership and memories into one post.

During his time at Bentleys, Colin has played an enormous part in shaping the business and the people within it.

From projects and challenges to changes in the industry, he's seen a lot over nearly four decades, and throughout it all, he's been a leader, a mentor and an important part of the Bentleys story.

But perhaps one of the most special parts of that story is the connection to the next generation.
Over the years, Daughter Danni, and Sons Garry and David have all spent time working within the business.
Seeing his children become part of the company's legacy has given Colin something particularly meaningful to look back on, and, as he begins his next chapter, there's a real sense of confidence in the future.

Because while we're saying goodbye to one chapter, we're not saying goodbye to the values, knowledge and experience that have helped shape Bentleys.

The business is in good hands. There are people within Bentleys who know the business, understand its values and are ready to take those foundations forward, while continuing to help the company evolve, grow and look towards the future.

When we asked Colin what gives him confidence about the future of Bentleys he says, "I feel privileged to have had a great career spanning 39 years at Bentleys. I'm proud of what we've achieved in that time. Going forward foundations have been laid to ensure continual growth. We pride ourselves on coming to the table with solutions and being pro-actve. We have key staff in the business who can push the business on, maintain progression and take Bentleys to the next chapter. "

That's why we're proud to be an approved BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Maintainer, certified Since 2025.

The BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Maintenance Scheme provides independent assurance that maintenance is carried out to a recognised standard, with participating organisations subject to ongoing auditing and requirements around training, competence and accountability.

CELEBRATING AN INCREDIBLE 114 YEARS OF SERVICE! 👏🎉

Today, we’re celebrating three very special members of the Bentleys team, Gordon Traynor, Derek Henderson and Jim Wallace, who are all officially retiring this year after an incredible 38 years with Bentleys each.

That’s a remarkable 114 years of combined service!

Thirty-eight years with the same company is something very special, but to have three members of the Bentleys team each reach that milestone is an achievement that deserves to be shouted about! 👏

Over the last 38 years, Gordon, Derek and Jim have each played a huge part in the Bentleys story. Through countless projects, and milestones, they have brought their skills, craftsmanship, experience and dedication to the team, while sharing their knowledge with the many colleagues they've worked alongside over the years.

They've seen a lot of changes over four decades but one thing has remained the same, their commitment to doing a great job and being part of the Bentleys team.

Three incredible careers.
Countless memories.
