A job with a difference today.
Headed down to Closeburn near Thornhill, Dumfriesshire a 2 1/2 hr journey to install a commercial nest swing on behalf of Active Garden for Closeburn House which is a residential school for children with additional needs.

Closeburn House School provides a secondary model of education up to National 5 level for young people with a variety of additional support needs including those who are neurodivergent, have experienced trauma and those with social, emotional and mental health issues.

During the installation a young female pupil watched us the whole time. So it was only fair with staff supervision,she was the 1st try it out. She was in her element. To see the smile on her face made the job so worthwhile.

Just finished this project. The garden was unusable before, due to the grass never drying out. The turf was laid by the builders on solid sub soil clay ground, so the water had nowhere to drain.

Garden was dug out, drainage installed and new topsoil added. Over 40 ton of material moved.

Kandla grey sandstone paving laid and a new pergola with Venetian slats erected.

Hunter Property Services carried out all the excavations, terracing work and constructed the decking, screening and fencing.

Another job for Sodexo, who manage Queen Anne High School. The replacement of the pergola, seating area and raised bed.
For health and safety reasons this work has to be completed during school holidays.
All the timber products were specially ordered for the work. Dressed and treated to C4 specifications for outside use. Supplied by MKM Building Supplies - Dunfermline
