W M Shorthouse Forestry Limited are currently seeking applicants for full time, part time and seasonal positions. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to carry out various operations in the forestry industry including, but not restricted to, tree felling, tree planting, tree maintenance and fencing.

Applicants must have full UK driving licence and be willing to travel to sites throughout highland Perthshire and Tayside.

Full training will be provided but the following certification would be advantageous:

-First aid +F
-NPTC chainsaw
-NPTC atv
-NPTC PA1&6

We are a small, family-run business looking to expand our workforce to keep up with increasing demand. Attractive rate of pay depending on experience.

Its been A very busy couple of months for the WMS foresty teams. Made busier by the arrival of our new Novotny 511. It had big shoes to fill replacing our Valtra T120, its been put straight to work and it hasn't disappointed us. Being a purpose built machine it seems so much more at home in the wood, allowing us to access many more areas and with no ground damage. More photos to follow!

Due to an Increasing work load we are looking for chainsaw operators with experience in line thinnings for contracts in Highland Perthshire and Laurencekirk. Full NPTC chainsaw and first aid certificates required, working on a self employed basis preffered. Pm if interested for more details.

Delivering some 10 metre long larch poles to the Scottish Crannog centre at Loch Tay. The trees were selected be the Crannog staff for their on going maintenance schedule from a local forestry commission stand. We felled, processed and transported the poles to the centre, ready for the Crannog staff to carry out any necessary repairs.
