I've fitted gas fires for 30 year's, I specialise in them. Always had my favourites, Gazco & ... but with Gazco's new requirements - Never ever again will I fit one!

A 900 x 500 fire Balanced flue fire, requires absolute destruction of a wall. Hacking off 1300 wide x 1200 high wall, and having to have it specially rendered with fireproof render (because cement & skim isn't fireproof enough - in a flipping living room - not a plant room!!) and a hole that is the size of a door, that needs to be rebuilt with metal stud and fibreboard. Plasterer required for the specialist coating because it's a pig to do, and ridiculously expensive for the render.

Absolute insanity! A job which used to take just over half a day - now takes multiple day's, massive installation costs, and upheaval to our client's.

Health and safety has gone mental - as have Gazco! 🤬

We are very proud of this installation today, the reason for such pride - it was fitted by our 3rd year apprentice Jake! (Magnaclean cut in later)

He cut out the old airing cupboard, with old hot water tank, and tonnes of ugly pipes. He took ownership of the job, and has produced a neat, clean, excellent installation.

Well done Jake, I'm very proud of you, and the work you produce 👏🏽👏🏽

Apprenticeships are the way forward, for learning a great trade, on the job hands on!
