Work Experience & Apprentice Intake 2026
Investing in the future workforce through apprenticeships remains a key priority for our business, both now and for the years ahead.
We are well underway with our 2026 apprentice intake and have already completed a number of interviews and on-site work experience weeks for young people looking to begin their careers in Civil Engineering across the region.
The work experience programme is an important part of our recruitment process. It gives candidates valuable first-hand experience of the groundworks industry before committing to a career path, while also allowing us to see their punctuality, attitude, attentiveness, and willingness to learn in a live site environment.
Our interviews and work experience weeks will continue throughout June and July across our sites, with successful candidates receiving offers ahead of college courses commencing in September.
We are also pleased to welcome:
* Apprentice Engineer Josh Ellison
* Groundworker apprentices Brandon Wilson and George Smith
In addition, we have secured Plant Operator apprenticeships for recently qualified groundworker apprentices:
* Callum Atkinson
* Joseph Kirtley
* Ben Herdman
This brings our total apprentice cohort to 25 apprentices.
A huge thank you to the Wyn site teams for hosting the work experience weeks and to our apprentice mentors for their continued support and guidance.
We would also like to thank the teams at Derwentside College, New College Durham and Capital 4 Training for their ongoing support with apprentice training and further education.
