When there is something missing from a shaft.

The only spare you have is second hand and the key way is to big.

What else can you do but let the electrician loose on a mill to machine a new keyway.

Apologise to any machinist ( Richard Reccords ) out there who sees this and 🙈😭 but needs must.🤣

Not a customers house today but my own home. Been trying to replace bed side lamps with something else for a while but the other half didn't want me chasing the walls.

Whilst watching You tube came across a channel from Jordan at Artisan Electrics who was carrying out an install with Quinetic wireless switches and controllers which looked ideal so thought I'd give it ago.

Have replaced the old chandelier with new pendant and installed two new pendants above bedside cabinets (I know they aren't central but we are getting wider bed).

These are controlled via two control units in the loft ( 1 for central light and 1 for the bed side lights) which are switched from 3 gang light switch near the door and 2 single light switches mounted on the bedside cabinets.

Have to say easy to install and easy to program the controllers to the switches and best of all no batteries to go flat.

Small bit of remedial work this morning. Had an issue with customers machine last week with Trays not coming up on time. Basically during the breakdown noticed there was play between the shaft and one of the bearings

It looked like shaft was worn but not something they kept in stock. Machine had temp repair done to get production going and parts came in today. As you can see shaft was badly worn.

Not electrical but found this whilst in a customer loft today.

Early start this morning 4:00. Replacing blower fan unit on a heat tunnel as motor was running hotter than normal. Old unit doesn't allow for motor to be split from the fan shaft unlike the new one (Blue motor) Motor and cable tested out ok so suspect bearings as a bit tight when tried on the bench.

Todays jobs. Replacing an old re-wirable consumer unit with a new MK 10 way split load unit. A few bit to finish next week when I'm back installing a new shower supply upgrade.
