Heatmiser Thermostat Setup & Max Floor Temp Guide

When installing an infrared underfloor heating system, the thermostat setup is just as important as the installation itself.

In this video, we walk through how to set up a Heatmiser thermostat and explain how to correctly set the maximum floor temperature. This is particularly important when using infrared heating film under floating floors such as laminate or engineered wood.

A properly configured thermostat ensures your system runs efficiently, safely, and within the limits of your floor covering.

If you’re planning a project and need help with system design, layout or product selection, feel free to get in touch.

We’ve just tested the new Heatvis 350W infrared heating panel (60x60) and in this video we take you through the full unboxing, setup and real heat performance test.

Infrared heating panels work differently from traditional convection heaters. Instead of mainly heating the air, they radiate heat directly to people and surfaces, helping create a comfortable and energy efficient heating environment.

In this review we cover:
• What comes in the box
• Build quality and finish
• Real heat test results
• Where this type of infrared heating panel can be used

These panels can be suitable for:
• homes
• offices
• garden rooms
• churches
• workspaces
• renovation heating projects

If you are looking for a modern electric heating system or want to learn more about infrared heating panels, feel free to contact us.

Where can carbon infrared underfloor heating film actually be used?

This is one of the most common questions we get.

Carbon infrared underfloor heating film is specifically designed for underfloor heating and works best with floating floor systems such as laminate and engineered wood. Because it’s a dry underfloor heating system, there’s no need for screed or wet trades, which makes it ideal for renovation projects.

It can also be used with carpet and vinyl, but only when installed with a 7mm MDF baseboard system above the heating film. This protects the system and ensures even heat distribution.

One important factor many people overlook is the tog value of carpet and underlay. To allow efficient heat transfer, the combined tog value should not exceed 2.5.

Carbon infrared underfloor heating film is not suitable for tiles or screed-based systems, where alternative electric underfloor heating systems are more appropriate.

If you’re planning a project and want advice on the right system, feel free to get in touch. We design and supply complete infrared heating systems tailored to your floor build-up and layout.

How do you install infrared underfloor heating?

In this video, we walk through the full installation process of an infrared heating film system, including insulation boards, film layout, electrical connections, testing and final preparation before laying the floor.

This type of electric underfloor heating is a dry system, meaning there is no screed or wet work involved. It is ideal for renovation projects where build-up height is limited and where a fast installation is required.

Infrared underfloor heating works particularly well with laminate floors, engineered wood and other floating floor systems, providing an energy efficient and modern heating solution.

If you are planning a project and would like advice or a quote, feel free to get in touch or leave your questions in the comments.
