Quality construction is built on skilled workmanship.

Every successful project relies on the knowledge, experience and attention to detail of the people carrying out the work.

From structural elements through to the finishing details, each stage requires care, precision and an understanding of how the different elements come together.

At Valley Builders, we value the contribution of skilled tradespeople and specialist contractors in helping deliver projects to a high standard.

Because the quality of a finished building is the result of countless decisions and details along the way.

Behind every successful project is a team bringing together different skills, experience and expertise.

We're putting the spotlight on some of the people who make it all happen at Valley Builders, starting with Director, Sarah Baggott.

Sarah joined the business in September 2012 and became Director following her father's retirement, after he had spent 40 years running the company.

Today, Sarah oversees Health & Safety, HR and business management, helping to keep everything running smoothly both on and off site.

From rural building to contemporary family home.

Set high above an agricultural valley in the Sussex countryside, this project transformed a substantial 335m² building into a five-bedroom home designed to make the most of its remarkable setting.

A large existing opening frames views across the landscape and fills the main living space with natural light, while charred larch cladding gives the exterior a contemporary finish that remains sensitive to its rural surroundings.

Inside, vaulted ceilings create a sense of scale across the open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, with bespoke timber panelling, polished concrete and natural oak bringing warmth and character throughout.

Energy performance was also central to the project. A highly insulated envelope, triple glazing, passive ventilation, ground source heat pump, photovoltaic array and battery storage contribute to an EPC rating of 122 (A).

A fantastic example of contemporary residential construction, bringing together craftsmanship, considered materials and exceptional energy performance.

When you see a completed project, it's easy to focus on the finished result.

But behind every building is a process of planning, coordination, problem-solving and skilled workmanship.

As main contractor, Valley Builders brings those elements together — coordinating the people, materials and specialist trades needed to deliver each project.

It's the work that happens behind the scenes that helps create a finished result we're proud of.

Because good construction isn't just about where you finish. It's about how you get there.

Supplier Spotlight

A successful kitchen space relies on more than one element — it’s the combination of craftsmanship, materials and carefully selected finishes that brings the design together.

For this project, we worked alongside:
• Howdens — kitchen & utility
• YES Glazing Solutions — sliding doors
• Glow Lighting — kitchen pendant lighting
• Silverdale Flooring — flooring finishes

Together, these details helped create a contemporary and functional space designed for modern living.

What makes a construction project successful?

It's not simply completing the work on time. It's bringing together the right expertise, managing the details and maintaining a clear focus on quality from beginning to end.

As main contractor, Valley Builders coordinates the different elements of a project, from specialist trades and materials to programme, site management and communication with the wider project team.

Every project is different, but the principles remain the same:

Clear planning.
Good communication.
Skilled people.
Careful coordination.
Quality workmanship.

When those things come together, the result is more than a finished building. It's a project delivered properly, from start to finish.
