We originally planned a straightforward upgrade on this firewall — new lead flashing, fresh rendering, and a full polyurethane liquid/CSM waterproofing system.
But when we got up there and saw the shocking state the previous roofers left it in, we knew we had to go further.
We stripped it back, installed a breathable membrane, counter battens, and new 2x1 battens. Properly soakered against the cheek, replaced the tired 1900s lead valley with a new Code 5 lead valley, and added eave ventilation before re-slating.
Finished it off with these stunning ornamental ridge tiles on a Kytun copper ridge system — designed to keep moss and algae at bay for years to come.
Extremely pleased with the result. Clean, durable, and built to last.
