Friend or Foe?

Wild Angelica

✅ Doesn't aggressively spread by underground roots.
✅ Doesn't smother neighbouring plants.
✅ Doesn't damage buildings or paving.
✅ Is excellent for wildlife and pollinators!

But DOES look like poisonous species Hemlock which looks superficially similar to Angelica, NO foraging unless you are an expert!

W**d Woman Verdict: Friend, not foe.

Wild Angelica is a valuable native wildflower that provides food for pollinators and generally behaves itself. Unless it's growing somewhere inconvenient, it's often worth letting this elegant giant have its moment.
